Max Damage modable no req sword/axe

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a no req sword/axe with the largest possible base damage and which is moddable. Will i need to farm for it in Old Ascalon?

I want to use it for farming, I'm tired of doing 2 dam with my req 9 sword.

No req? Use a candy cane weapon. Why would you want a sword/axe anyway if you're not going to be putting any points into the attribute?

Unfortunately candy weapons aren't moddable as far as I know.

I normally solo as a N/Mo with a sword with the 20% longer enchantment.

The best no-req sword i've seen is a 8-10, i found that ... north shiverpeaks, near beacons i think.

Finding such a weapon, i think you're best off killing the minotaurs outside ice tooth cave.. fairly quick, and they drop low-end stuff.

Of course, for a otherwise decent no req item, get something from pre-sear ... ruriks quest presear gives a 6-9 sword with +5 armor while enchanted (which of course is a mod that won't be overwritten by adding a 20% enchant mod). Might suit your needs quite well.

Highest Axe I've seen no req is 5-10. Don't know if they go higher though. It was a drop from the Northern Shiverpeaks regions (so the Ice tooth suggestion is founded).

Thnx. I tried around the Ice Tooth Cave, and out of a lot of trolls and centaurs I only got 2 weapon drops and both had reqs. I'll try again another time.

Old Ascalon seems to have no req. weapons in abundance but the damage range is in the 5-8 range of so.

Looks like it might take a while to find a decent one....
