Okay, my pet was killed and then I was killed and then I had to call it a night before I could fight my way back to where the paet was lying dead. Then it was a couple of months before I could pick up the game again. Now I have no idea where the dead petr is. Is there some way to get it back, or drop it, or something so I can start using a pet again?

btw...to rez it use Comfort Animal or Rez Pet I believe.

Seems that the answer was to un-equip charm animal, step out of the city, step back in and then re-equip charm animal. When I went out of the city then, TA-DA, there was my pet.
