Does it block spells? can it block hex's being cast on you.

blocks melee attacks like swords, axes,hammer but not wands or bows(?)

I prefer Riposte myself. It's adrenaline, but with 100 blades 4 adren is a doddle to get. And with 11 tactics it does 48 damage, no matter what the enemy is. Very handy against mursaat.
