Why we seriously need more coherent stories / quests in GW...

Granted, other MMORPG may be more guilty of this than GW, but many of the GW quests are nearly as bad -- and let's not mention the sheer grinding involved in getting some of the items (Ectos, anyone?)

Just out of curiosity -- if one wasn't going to buy the material, how many runs in fow and uw would it take to get the fow armor?

So please please please --> better, more coherent stories and more interesting quests...

I think the UW quests are well done. Saving the lost souls in the village? Defending both the Ice King and the Reaper? The Monuments?

FoW is good, too. The Wailing Lord, the Griffons, the Forgemaster...all great quests. That's not even mentioning some of the excellent missions.

Ecto and shards are not part of a quest. They're a very optional part of the game that is probably there solely to give the people who like grinding something to do.

Sure, many of the quests suck. There are many quests that involve retrieving X pieces of item Y from mob Z. It's hard to think of a large number of novel quests. Still, I think they have a smaller portion of filler than most RPGs do.

I think what they did with the quests are not bad actually. Especially the Sarrows Furnace quests. The missions as well can be pretty interesting. I do however think they can improve upon it. Not to hijack your thread but I gotta plug my idea here.

What I think could use improvement however is the story... big time. I'd love to get into details about that, but I'll do that in a thread with a spoiler warning.
