What do different shields do?

Ok, I did a search adn came up with nothing. SO... what do the different shield styles do? Or are they all cosmetic. And by shield styles I mean round vs tall vs kite vs bone vs whatever.

I don't think there's really any difference besides the looks. All of the stats of the shield are determined by the mods that it says it has.
