Hi guys, I have been playing GW since it came out. Today I decided to add more RAM. I had 1 gig now I have 2 gig. The 4 sticks are identical. It run smoothly on CS and other stuff. But when I try to run GW, the game won't load. Then there is a pop up from GW official website saying this
Quote:
Memory Chip Timing Problems: If your computer allows you to set memory chip timings, please try using a less aggressive setting. Verify that the computer's CAS latency setting is no faster than the memory chip's rated CAS latency. This is the most common reason for a hardware failure, and easily solved with more conservative settings.
I didn't configured anything, all I did was stick in the RAMS. The comp boot perfect, other games works fine, the control panel detect and said I have 2 gig. I am wondering If GW can't handle 2 gigs of Kingston Hyper X blue rams??? It kinda sux to take 1 gig off just to play GW. If anyone have a same problem and know anything, please help me out. I appreciated you replies. -Chimp-

Hi,

IMO not every motherboard runs well with all banks populated with just any memory (even if the sticks are the same).

Please refer to your motherboard's manual if there is any information about this issue. Some boards were picky and/or unstable when all banks were populated. Sometimes settings needed to be changed, but the MB manual should state this.

What's your memory configuration? 4x512? 2x1024?

Also you can try to "underclock" the memory a little bit. In my experience this can help the stability immensely, while it does not affect the performance too much.
