Which Armor Set better for Warriors?
ForeverGoNe
The gladiator set (65 AL, 20 Def vs Phys Attk) or ascalon set (65 AL, 10 Def vs Phys Attk) Reduces Physical Damage. I was also wanting to know how much percentage wise the damage reduction is on the ascalon set.

Any opinions?

I'm wearing two pieces of ascalon as a lvl 7 warrior and most of the melee mobs in post-searing ascalon hit me for zero damage.
Occassionally they sneak through a hit for 1 damage, lol.
No damage, no downtime, no worries, no challenge.

Gladiator for the + to energy.

I used the Gladiator for the longest time, thinking the +energy was vital due to my low energy pool. However I recently switched from Gladiator to Knights Armor (which also reduces damage taken) and enjoy the changes.
I take less damage overall, and the extra 7 or so energy only helped in the begining anyway. I could cast one extra spell, big deal.
Personally, go for the Ascalon, you wont miss the energy.

Depends on your secondary class.. As a W/E, I love my gladiator's armor and +Energy shield.. Makes my immolates and Phoenixes a lot easier to toss out
From what I understand from other posts here, the thing about Ascalon armor (and I don't know if they've fixed this and, in fact, if they intend to), is that you only need one piece of Ascalon in order to get the 2pt damage reduction - it doesn't stack with extra pieces. So a lot of folks grab Ascalon boots, and another armour set entirely.
Oh, and Ascalon looks cooler
I'd say most warriors are probably better served with higher-def armors. Unless your build is specifically designed to be a warrior/caster (as opposed to a warrior/caster-when-I-feel like), you won't need Gladiator's.

While we're on the subject, anyone care to explain to me how armor works in this game and some clarification about damage reduction on the sets?

hey while we're talking about armor does one of you know if i can get f.e. a duelists helmet with the design of an ascalon one?
because duelists helmet+ascalon armor looks pretty shitty to me :/
i want an ascalon helmet with +1 swordsmanship and then put a +1 rune in it
