why is it constantly "connecting"?

after i create a character or i hit the "play" button it bring me 2 the downloading screen with the pic of the three characters and the bar at the bottom of the screen. is starts counting up at how much has been downloaded but then after a few moments that goes away and it says "connecting" for a few seconds and then goes back 2 downloading. plz tell me if any of u have experienced this or if u no wat i can do. thanx

Probably computer is having trouble connecting to the internet.

I am getting the same problem. Since it's both of us, that infers that it' s not a problem client side.

for it to go downloading then connecting is perfectly normal since the game updates alot... well any MMO's do that

What we are talking about is not 'perfectly normal'. It gains no percent of completion. It will start the download after selecting a character, then have to re-connect. Rinse, wash and repeat.

there have been some problems with lag. More than likely it means you got disconnected from their server for a moment and it is reconnecting back. I've noticed more lag this time around than in the past.

hmm well i dunno then... the only other prob i get is that on the bottom of my screen it says "plz logout and exit the game because a new build is availiable nearly everytime i enter ascalon. why cant it just update itself... and when i cbb exiting and entering guildwars i cant see all the players ie. if i say meet at district 1 ascalon city i only see some ppl and wont b able to see som of my party...

the new build is just that a new build and not some small change you can stream in for everybody

log out go back in and accept any changes they made
