Well, i see this whole subforum is nothing but UW, so maybe this will add some diversity.

Protection: 12+1+1
Divine Healing: 12

Martyr {E}
Purge Conditions
Mend Ailments
Signet of Devotion
Reversal of Fortune
Guardian
Aegis
Res Sig.

I was looking for any tips and suggestions to how this build can work better.
Im looking to use it in GVG and sometimes in Tombs.

I just need a way to survive under the attack of 2-6 people.

Thanks

There's no single build that can survive under the attack of 2-6 half-way competent people. You mostly depend on your other Monks, since you're probably getting hit with Gale, energy drains, hexes, interrupts, etc. You could just stand way back and use Aegis, Martyr, Heal Party, Maintained Enchantments and/or Orders.

Well i just ran this in tombs for about 2 hours and made it to the first 1v1v1v1, "scarred earth" i believe and it worked pretty well.

I was in charge of the condition removing (obviously) and we had 1 other monk who healed.
We faught IWAY builds most of the way there and we had brought a couple of trappers and a ward...so that was kinda easy..

But Ill look into the heal party and divine healing.

Thank you for posting this build. I needed a build with Martyr this one works great. I added Divine healing and Life Bond (Cast Life Bond on people who are getting hit hard) . IT worked pretty well we got to that one (forgot name really tired now) where u have 3 teams that fight on the alter or w/e. We used 3 monks actualy. 2 Boon Protectors and Me. Warder, Traper, ss necro, gale warrior, and an Esurge mesmer. We captured alter first then got ambushed by 2 iway teams =(. We took down one of the teams but died fast to the second one.

Personally I've found that martyr works best with a quasi-heal build in tombs.

Martyr, Purge Cond. Remove Hex, Res, Divine Healing, Healing Breeze, CoP, Orison or DS.

This build is mainly intended to help counter IWAY, you need a good prot monk (pref with Restore Cond.) and a good heal monk for the team to work. The key is that the martyr monk must stay alive (and functioning) at almost all costs.

The thing to watch in any martyr build (be it quasi-prot or quasi-heal) is skill recharge.

i dont mind the 10 seconds of Martyr's recharge much, since i can use mend ailment on whoever has the lowest health of the ones with conditions.

I'll use purge conditions if i see i have ALOT of conditions tranfered onto me at once...but normally mend ailment works fine as it keeps me healed.

Staying alive has never been a problem, seeing as I stay in the wards. All the IWAY teams we fight are never smart enough to realize that theres a Martyr monk right in front of them makeing their trappers useless.

Tips for IWAY:
-Time Martyr with trappers traps, once you see alot go off, ready yourself and wait till as much people have a condition as possible.

-If you notice everyone is diseased from staying in the ward, run out and behind something, then cast Martyr so you wont just effect everyone again.

-Aegis is also very helpful. At 14 protection, it gives 11 second of a 50% chance to block, that plus Guardian on someone getting hit hard, will keep them alive long enough for you or someone else to heal them easily.

-the Martyr shouldnt be considered or played as your everyday heal or protect monk, this is why you should still bring 2 others.

Too bad martyr is an elite. You could have made really interesting combos with Plague signet or Victory is Mine ....
Hmmm.... Must test it with "I will survive" to see if it worth it as a warrior/Monk or Monk/Warrior.
Thanks, you give me ideas!

i think 3 condition removals on the same player is overkill
martyr + mend ailment is enough

Mend Ailment is enough, but if Martyr is still recharging and i see a teamate walk into a group of traps and get loaded, purge conditions will be a quicker and more energy-efficient way of curing them.

But i will definitly give I Will Survie + Martyr a try....

And what about Medlandru's Resilience? Can someone else cast it on you, so that you can gain its benefit? That would be another sweet combo.

Have you ever used a Martyr Monk with a Restore Condition monk team mate? Its what my guild uses in GvG and it works very well vs tainted flesh and trappers. Restore Condition is used when only 1 player is affected, the Martyr kicks in if we have multiple conditions on multiple players. Good teamwork is necessary here, but it allows you to free up your skill slots rather than taking purge conditions and mend ailment.

There's obviously no sure way to survive an onslaught of 2-6 ppl but here is my recommendation...
Change your secondary to Elemental.

Change your build to
Divine 10/Prot 10/ Earth 10

Obsidian Flesh {E}
Ward against Foes/or Melee
Aegis
Shielding Hands
----

Mend conditions
Gaurdian
Reversal of Fortune
Rez sig

The first 4 will be your life saver skills

1)Cast Obsidian Flesh just before battle begins -- this ensure you can't be targeted by any spells, and adds +20 to your armor.
2)Immediately after cast Aegis Make certain that half of those attacks will miss
3) Shielding hands, heal yourself (via divine) and reduce incoming dmg.
4) Ward againsgt Foes make a nice buffer zone that will slow the enemy down by 50%

This will make targeting you from the onset difficult for any enemy...

hope this helps...

Channeling Maybe you made a mistake in your post, but there's no elite in there. Just insert Martyr for RoF (or whatever you want) and your'e good to go.

There are better elites to put on a monk primary. Leave martyr to the me/mo and e/mo.
