I played Guild Wars at release for several months, then I took a break. I recently returned to playing Guild Wars and I am very pleased to see all the improvements that have been made. Perhaps some players don't notice how nice it is to have the tooltips for your skill bar actually show all relative info with the icons for Casting Time, Energy Cost, and Cooldown. Maybe it goes unappreciated that the Material and Dye Trader interfaces have improved dramatically and function similarly to all other vendor UI. I think having a solid UI can make or break a game.

However, Guild Wars is still sorely lacking in one area of UI. Audio Feedback! Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
  • Gong, or other annoucement SFX for when a player is added to a party. It we be heads up that you have joined a group or another player has joined yours
  • NPCs need greetings! When I decide to interact with any NPC a short verbal greeting would be excellent. "Greetings Warrior" "Hello" "Balthazar be praised."
  • NPCs need farewells! Whenever you close a quest or merchant window, you should here some sort of goodbye. "Good luck you you warrior." "May Balthazar watch over you." "Farewell stranger."
  • The interface needs button click SFX. When I click a button, drag an object, close a window, open a window. There needs to be some audio feedback. Any UI without this just doesn't see to have weight.

I'm sure there are tons of other places where more Audio Feedback could be used too. I know this is probably not a popular request, like say "More PvP Fraction rewards!" But I think it is something that could make Guild Wars and the world of Tyria that much more alive.

I agree in essence with having more ambiance with the game.
Sometimes it is the little things, like the suggestions you made, that help make the total experience of the game more enjoyable.

while the soundtrack is great sounds are lacking. Also in combat i would like to hear a lot more yellsc and during magic casting i like to hear a sort of chanting/praying/mumbling...maybe not all the time but a little bit more yells yes.
