I agree that something must be going on here cause you can see the necro's weapon which wouldn't show inside of a town unless there is some crazy glitch

Yes we could. Because technically we weren't in the town. Exit into lornar's then go back into town but try and avoid the portal. You can get behind the portal and back into Beacon's although you are not considered by the game to be. So you can still act as if you were outside and therefore fight the ice imps and pinesouls.

Outside dragon's lair? - go round the edge of the portal for tombs you can get to the edge of the world, though the sky looks different there.
[Edit] Oops, can't be there because maximum paty size in the pics is 6 not 8, which means I would like to change my guess to either Elona Reach or D'alessio Seaboard.

Ok I think you are outside Beacon's. As danger sam said you can go back inside through the Lornar's protal without techniqually being in town. After reading this thread my hubby tried it...however before resetting it and going back into beacon's he went out the deldrimor bowl door and it looks just like that.
