Professions for the expansion?

I just thought I'd drop a few ideas for expansion characters. I guess the obvious would be druid that can turn into cool animals and such, use the attacks and all that. I guess the one i was interested in was the summoner. Could have Dark and Light hearted creatures and have abilities to strengthen circle. The creatures couldn't leave the circle and you could make the circle larger with spells and make the creatures stronger within the circle.

Druid is good...

How about a rogue/thief profession?

That and none of the ideas are unique, they are from other games, sure most will be, but my point is that there is really no reason to post it, most of all with everyone else already posting it.

How about the rogues do poison damage and use daggers+backstab o.O

There was no need for that was there?

None the less it too early to be talking about new expansion packs already.

Summoner, who summons minions?, like a necromancer?

I know what your thinking about, a "summoner", like FF summoner, hmmmm maybe this isn't final fantasy, and having a job that focuses souly on summoning skills would be broken, ranger already has a skill set specificaly for a perminant creature, and necromancer summons armies of undead.

It would be easier to add a Raise bone dragon to necromancer as an elite spell, or make super powerful pets available for the ranger, Summoner job just doesn't have a legitimate place.

My suggestion would be a Assasine/Spy class (not a thief class because the story line wont wont work with them because thiefs are considered as evil/enemies)

This Class would par up with Wars, but in a different direction.
Defense: would be between ranger and spellcasters.
Attack: on par with a Warrior, but not heavy hitting, more like fast hitting
with lower dmg

The 5 Attributes:
Fast Attack (Primary)
Dagger (Secondary)
Dual Wield (Secondary)
Assasination (Secondary)
Spying (Secondary)

Fast hitting: works similar to Fast Casting but for melee skills/ normal attacks

Dagger: works like sword/axe/hammer attributes

Dual Wield: this attribute is a little bit more complicated , and in order to not overpower this i came up with an nice solution (i think). The weapon which is in the second hand will miss to an extend. Inceasing this attribute will incease the hit chance of the second weapon aswell the skills tied to it.

Also i think it would be go to limit the weapons which the second hand can hold. So only all daggers , only short swords , and some kind of axes (which looks small) could be equipped so it wont look stupid.

Assaination: will be focusing on ranget attacks, and introduse a new weapon class, Throwing Weapons: Shuriken, Boomerrangs, Darts. They Disable the second hand like bow. The Skills will focus, poisen, desesing ... and such skills.

Spying: This Skills will include Thief and Copy Skills. Aswell some Disabling/Slowing / Chaning Skills

Actually, a summoner would be cool if it were NOT focused on the undead. Say you summon a devourer or something, I think that's what he meant (and no degenerating life span!)

I like the assassin class as well sounds like it'd be a fun time.

The thing is...GW already has 36 professions...because that's how many options there are for skill combos, and that broadness makes things difficult to change.

Perhaps the summoner, could have the power to summon creatures or monsters that he/she defeats in combat.

How would the summoner be balanced with all the other character classes if they had the ability to summon creatures or monsters that he/she defeated? It seems to me that this sort of "uber" attitude could easily unbalance the game. As for the assassin character outside of the dual wielding you already have much of what you want in the Ranger class other than the visuals of weapon choice such as substituting shuriken instead of the bow that poisons. It sounds to me what you really want is a one shot kill skill, since that is the role of assasins.

Personally I think that if they improved the cosmetic options in this game the majority of people would be quite happy with the classes that already exist, since many just want to look different then everyone else. For example, what is the difference between a Nippon themed warrior and a Medieval themed warrior but the look of the armour, weapons and human characteristics? Or in the case of this game a Charr warrior (or any other non-human intelligent race) and a human one. Not much other than cosmetics. Valarian.

They really have covered alot already... and I've seen a ton of people already mention druid, rogue, 'real monk', etc. I've tried to think of those ideas into more detail, and abstract them into something a little different or newer, http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=9843.

We probably will see a rogue class of some kind, because of how many people are talking about one. I'd be a bit dulled to see an assassin and druid pop in, ala D2. Mesmer is probably the most unique and interesting class in GW, and the developers should keep the trend of interesting and innovative classes.

One thing I think people are missing is... won't we have to make a new character to use all these cool new classes?
