The new tombs
labsenpai
My successful PuG consisted of 3 monks, 2 necros, 1 Air nuker, 1 Ranger, and one tank. I'm not sure but I think about 4-5 greens dropped, and 2 ectos. From a healbot viewpoint, having a full prot/bonder was good, and a Mo with Infuse. I had my all-purpose build, so I was up front a bit more spamming Mend Condition, Orison, and Smite Hex. Two prot/healers and a Necro with wells is probably enough in a coordinated team.
Deaths mainly attributed to enemy patrols that couldn't be dissected easily, getting blocked in, and the far-reaching attacks like the dryder fireball.

Here is the build I use for my Warrior/Necro
I have a full Platemail Armor with Knight's Gauntlets, 14>50 Customized sword and Thanzit's Defender.
01. Savage Slash
02. Distracting Blow
03. Plague Signet [E]
04. Bonetti's Defense
05. Watch Yourself
06. Dolyak Signet
07. Healing Signet
08. Rez. Signet.
Instead of a Distracting blow and Plague Signet I used to have Endure Pain and I will Survive, but realised that I really didn't use Endure Pain at all, and conditions didn't last long enough on me for "I Will Survive" to get is't full effect.

The amount of rends and shatters in there made running two boonprots as a backline in our 4 man squad pretty damn tough, when you rely on keeping an enchantment on yourself all the time. Not to mention most of your 'heals' being enchant based. But it was our first time in, so we didn't know any better. It seemed to work anyway though.
I would say one of the major keys to success here is not bunching up. There is a large amount of nasty nasty AoE damage here, particularly from Energy Surge and Fireballs. If you stay grouped up, your monks lives are going to be hell.

Just made a runthrough in record time...2 hours
Main cause of that is an amazing W/Me who knew his stuff...he tanked the whole mob and locked them in before we all hit the beasts. We were 2 Mo's, the W/Me, two Necro's (mm and ss), two Ele's and my mesmer.
So whilst the whole mob was targetting the w/me, the mm had his minions in a scrimmage also attackling...and shielding us casters from the grasps that might decide to go for easier meat than the w/me. From there it's just blasting the crap out of them and me spamming -11 health degen [yeah, -10...but it still counts when they get +3 health regen....they go from -11 to -8 d=] throughout the mob [I should really post that build; health degen spam, energy stealing/management and interruption with one "free" slot to fill...it's a real pest ])
What really made this build work though was that if you pull correctly, and the tanking is done well, the scythes (?: the mesmerthingys) are out of range of your casters...so you can hit those grasps to oblivion whilst the enemy mesmers are trying their damndest to interrupt the warrior Then you hit the scythes, who are then too few to affect your whole party.
The whole run was easy (heh...nearly to the point of boring in some places!), and we would've done it even quicker if we hadn't had a slight agro mishap in the fourth level.
I got illyana's staff and milius' eye, whilst our poor star W/Me (without whom we'd have failed misserably) only got the comedy ogre knife....

As far as killing them you can, they do rend enchantments (although none of the build we run include ANY type of enchantment)... they can also be killed so your MM can turn them into Minions...

What is with the green drops in this area? The twice that I've made it though to the end my group has only had a small handful drop, and none for me. Everyone else seems to be reporting 2-3 greens per player for one run.

i did 2 run , both run drop 3 or 4 greens,
and i got illayna mirror + ecto in first run, second run i got a victo battle axe + -2/-2 eternal shield

The chained souls are in the Old UW, and I 55 with them arround all the time. I echo spell breaker and bring another monk to do the same, then one SS necro to do damage, easy UW clear build..

But yeah, solo farming in the new tombs is pretty impossible.

I went as a W/ME and tanked very well. I used 12 insiration, 16 tact, rest in illusion.

Overall NUW is great. You can do a 6 man run with little or no problem, so a 4-5 man run is possilbe with very few CCs.
