As many of you have noticed the price for ectos has been dropping really badly the last few days. What i dont understand, is why would someone be so dumb to try to sell more than 50 ectos?. I am sorry but this is just plain retarded, and its what is brining the price down. Im guessing nobody of those took economics at all. If you have many ectos, and you try to sell them, they will only drop in price even more, hence the logical thing to do is NOT SELL THEM like its the end of the world, so they become more valuable.
I personally only have 2 ectos atm, so i dont really care about the price, but seriouslly i just cant understand why would someone with many ectos try to sell them, and make the price go down. Someone help me understand, because this doesnt make any sense.

because the general consensus is that the prices will continue falling since people won't want them after ch2 comes out (thats the idea anyways.) People would rather get rid of theirs at 7k than wait 2 months and get 3k for them.

Those people who have not taken a single course in economics, as you would claim, are the ones who, at the end of the day, will have the money. there never seemed to be much purpose to have gold in this game, except to stare at and croon over or something..
like real life, the more you have the more you spend for some people.

Well people are rich mainly because they played this from day one or close to it, which is actually REALLY important at least in this game ive noticed(which is retarded), or they just play it too much, not because they are smart.
Also why wont ppl want them for ch 2 that makes no sense to me. In addition because the max gold you can hold is 100k, ectos are necessary, as there are way too many things that are priced over 100k, and the only way to buy them is to have 100 k and ectos. Now this one is key, now if it isnt ectos, something WILL have to raise, unless the maximum money you can hold is no longer 100k and is several millions, as ive seen stuff such as a req 8 str 30 life -2 stance shield go for 500 ectos.

Well i donno but by gaile message it tells me that:Fissure armour will still be more "rarer" than the new armour (More desirable, the new armour will be more desirable at first but people will go back to fissure armour)
The new armour in the expansion needs ecto :S (I don't see this happening at ALL!)
Maybe a new armour in UW or something like that?

Concentrate on getting 1000k in your storage first then store your ectos and stones. I see no use in buying new weapons right now or buying anything for that matter and gold is the most reliable source of money (obviously).

Ectos have dropped, IMO, from the free zoning into "The Underworld" in the Old Tombs of the Primeval Kings area.
Those monsters there can drop ectos so you don't have to pay 1k in order to have a chance to get an ecto or any of those etheral items.

Perhaps. Gems are rumored to be receiving a use at some point, so a new "rare" set of armor may be planned. Certainly players think so, rubies and sapphires were, last I checked, above ectos in price. Me, I still plan on a set of fissure armor. Why? Because it is the first "rare" armor in the game, and will be so no matter how many chapters ANet releases. And because everyone is going to rush to get the new armors for that unique look, but then everyone will have the new armor, and no one will have exactly what they wanted (a unique looking character). The same cannot be said for fissure armor though, so I see were you are coming from about it being rarer, though I would keep in mind that another "rare" set of armor may be in chapter two. Certainly the players who only buy chapter two are going to want a goal to work towards, are they not?

Speaking of rare, I think that I will stick with my "plain old" desert collectors armor, I have never seen another ranger wearing it.
