There are some items called Ruby and sapphire, they are very rare, the frog and Gaile have kind of "mentioned" that they will be of any use in Chapter 2. i have never found one tho

If memory serves, rare material traders don't sell them to you. They may have a use in the future for equipment, seeing how there are things such as "jeweled" staffs. Also, would it kill you to resize the image? The full screenie PWND the forum table. :P

You can buy from and sell to a rare material trader. Click on the trader, select the material then request quote and buy.

Rare material traders will sell them, so long someone has sold one to the rare material trader.
I invested in about 10 each of Rubies & Sapphires about 2 months ago when Ch2 talk really started to come about. At some points since then they've become almost as valuable as Ecto.

heavy metal rules
the rubies and saphires will be used for crafting for "other" armor such as bracelets, necklaces, or earrings..you'll see in ch.2

Please make it clear that you're stating your opinion based on no facts when you are doing so. If you're stating something as a fact that isn't widely known please be so kind as to provide links to proof.
To answer the OP. As others have said Gaile and the frog have stated that they will have a use in Chapter 2 but have given no insight into how or what for.

Im thinking they might be tied to specific types of magic, perhaps diamonds for Air, rubies for Fire, sapphire for water, not sure about Earth(topaz, maybe?). Thinking obsidian for Necros, ect. All personal speculation, of course.

Sorry Milan I deleted the screenshots long ago but if you really want "proof" look through some of the old threads that have all of his conversations.
And before you fly off the handle at someone just because something is not widely known by you doesn't meen that it is not by others...

After checking the frog and gaile archives on another site (that I can't mention here...) I see no comments from either about them being used for jewelery.
I didn't 'fly off the handle' but find it somewhat annoying when people state opinions as fact when people are asking questions.

there are a lot of sort of "dead link" items in GW,
maybe gaile is leaving himself room to manover in the game so he does not have to invent certain items later in the GW series, making it look tacky.
