Capslock Filter

Im sure everyone here has encountered someone who manages to always speak in caps.

I am proposing a simple filter that either: Turns all caps lines (or lines with maybe 80% caps) into small case OR ignores it completely.

meh id rather have an update that actually kinda... like matters.

Without calculating, that's a fair amount of capitals, but as they're abbreviations capitals are suitable. Although I can totally see where you're coming from, people that type in nothing but capitals can be really annoying.

Then again (just thinking as I go along here) maybe my example above isn't that good, it wouldn't be that big a change for people to adjust to typing in lower case, especially if they were prompted to do so. But there could be problems with names, for example people called a name like "P A L A D I N"

Ive never seen whats annoying about caps. so what the letters are bigger.

Well, it tends to 'drown out' lower case typing, people pay less attention to them when you have bigger letters all over the place, and it's also considered bad 'netiquette' as capitals usually means you're shouting.

"ATTACK CALLED TARGET" is alot more agressive than "Attack called target".

While i respect your opinion, to state it flatly, I dont agree. It isnt hard to read lower case letters in upper case one. Now hard reading is trying to deciper LA d1 without slowing down chat by scrolling through at your own speed. And i personally dont consider it shouting just because many others do. Doesnt hurt my ears at all to read all caps. Or eyes for that matter.

again, to others who read this post, this is an OPINION. I feel the need to say that again to hopefully avoid drawing the flame fish.
