Hi,
So I just bought the game and am liking it so far. Been reading various forums and was wondering how viable a Ne/Mo build would be that focused on the sacrifice skills like Dark Aura? The healing tree of the Monk side could easily balance out the sacrifices of the Ne class it seems. Would the build be more viable being protection or healing specced on the monk side?
Thanks for any input.
Ne/Mo...sacrifice build?

One problem..you energy :/

Well, I was hoping that the mix of Soul Reaping, Offering of Blood and the low energy cost of Dark Pact and Touch of Agony would help to mitigate the energy loss. Seems decent in theory

i dunno... would healing seed count for your sacrifice of health?, and would protective spirit counter any sacrifice over 10%... questions i'm not sure about, i bet somebodies tested something like this before... but i would probably have to say that healing will be better any way you look at it for your guy...

No, I've played the almost exact build before...and you get familiar with this message:
"Not enough energy."

Well, since energy is a question..perhaps swapping around a bit to a Mezmer secondary. Could I sub a life tap in the Necro line for healing and use Energy Tap, etc to keep my energy up? Somewhat of a life/energy drainer mix?

Haven't tried a N/Me build yet...and all the energy taps a mesmer has is insane...could work well, give it a shot

Are you trying to spec for PvP or PvE?
As I've posted elsewhere here I use a setup of Blood & Domination with (currently) just enough points to give me +10 on Spirit Tap. Combine with Vampiric Gase, Empathy, Weakness, Well of Blood etc and its pretty viable for me - I'm sure there are better skills i don't have access to yet.
A note on Soul Reaping - while it can excel in PvE, unless you're going for a Death magic minion build in PvP I can't imagine there being enough bodies around for it to merit the points investment?

Well, I'm thinking the following...
Dark Aura
Dark Pact
Touch of Agony
(damage)
Vampiric Gaze
Unholy Feast
Life Transfer
(life drains)
Leaves 2 spots for Energy drains...deciding between Channeling, Energy Tap and Energy Drain. Although Energy Drain is an 'elite' skill and I dunno how those work. Am I limited on those? The cooldowns are kinda nasty on those but hoping that 2 would help me get through the 20 second cooldowns.

Well, I'm hoping to have a spec that will work decently well with both. I'm still confused how the whole RP/PVP difference works out but doing just RP right now until I get a hang of it. Can I use my RP characters for PVP?

Personally, I would stay away of anything that needs touching. Unless the mob is right next to you, otherwise the time spent travel to the mob and using is too much time loss.
