I'm not sure we understand what you're asking, what did you receive and what for?
Aro
I did advertisement scan and got 11 data miners, they take ur email and use it to send ads to people. No real threat but I don't like em
Old Dood
Are you saying to scanned for SPYWARE and it found 11 data minors after the scan?
Get use to that....If you cruise the internet you will get those.

I'm pretty sure dataminers aren't spyware. They're kind of like cookies and are natural.

I run a system virus scan every week or so (I'm not very protected, but I only visit this site really). I've not gotten a popup in ages, so I can't believe that they would be originating from GWG.
Everyone recieves a cookie from this site if they want to stay logged in. Other than that, we provide no malicious files.

Popups aren't always caused by the website. I remember when I had a lot of spyware, I would go to websites, and they would take longer to load and initiate tons of popups.
You probably have spyware.
One thing I always noticed was that on the bottom of the page I would go quickly to another website then to the destination I had entered, basically my browser was being hijacked.
Tips:
-Run weekly anti-virus scans
-Run weekly adware/spyware scans
-Don't use Internet Explorer
-Don't download crap, or visit websites that you don't trust
Things you can use:
-Scan for virus's with Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antvirus
-Scan for adware/spyware with Ad-Aware, and Spybot Search & Destroy
-Use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer
-When you see a link that says "Click Here," hover your mouse over it and look at the bottom of your browser window to see where it links to
-If it doesn't look like it links to a good site, enter the site into a google search, they usually provide descriptions of websites
Places to download these programs:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ There is button that says "Download"
http://www.mcafee.com/us/ You can purchase McAfee Antivirus on that website
http://www.safer-networking.org/ Select your language and somewhere there is a download link
http://www.symantec.com You can purchase Norton Antivirus there
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ There is a download link there
Good luck, and if you need to, there is a program called Hijack this on http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/
Scan your computer with it, post the log it provides, and we can tell you if your computer is running any programs that look like spyware.

nice post alias. i would also like to add google toolbar: http://toolbar.google.com/
It also gives you a nifty google search box along with a built in popup blocker below your address bar which can be hidden by right clicking and unchecking the google toolbar (popup blocker will still work).

Well, as far as anti-virus goes, in my own personal opinion, Norton is pretty worthless. I switched from it to avast a few months ago and it works so much better, getting things that Norton didn't pick up or couldn't delete. Also, it's free for personal use. I have to agree with using Firefox and Ad-Aware, though.
Just felt like adding my two cents.
