PVP question

Since the new build one of the new maps contains a flag for each team. Each team puts the flag into this obelisk thingy which does sumthing and after a while the flag respawns back at their sstarting point.

my question is: WHAT DOES THE OBELISK DO???

Shoots lightning bolts every 30 seconds which kill a random member of the opposing team then creates a level 52 masterless bone horror from the corpse.

Quoted for truth. Or it could shoot a lightning bolt every 30 secs that hits similar to lightning strike. And that's about it.
