W/E: Axe or Sword

I have two different builds that I have been looking in to using, and I was wondering which one would be more effective in PvP.

W/E
Strength
Sword Mastery
Air Magic

Without going too deeply into specifics, this build would use Conjure and Sword skills (such as Hundred Blades, Sever Artery, Gash) to deal a lot of damage over time.

W/E
Strength
Axe Mastery
Air Magic

This build would use axe skills (Eviscerate, Executioner's, etc...) and Frenzy to deal powerful spike damage in a short amount of time. From air magic it would get gale (and possibly conjure).

The sword should deal more DPS, but would take longer to defeat enemies. The axe would deal less average DPS, but would kill enemies quickly in a spike. I am personally inclined to pick sword, because I like swords better. However, I have been lead to believe that axes are more effective in PvP. So, which type of build would be best to use?

Please include your reasoning with your replies so that I can understand the pros and cons of each.

im guessing this is for pvp? axe is better because deals more dmg and the adrenline skills are bettr for axe as sword skills most of them cost energy. I would use shock instead of gale because shock is a 1/4 second skill and gale a 1sec which is better for intrupting normally if u have a ele or soemthing with u to have gale so u can call for it on vent or ts. thats what i do

As it seems that the consensus is for axe (as well as another board I posted on), I was wondering which of the following two axe builds is better:

1. Battle Rage (Elite)
2. Disrupting Chop
3. Dismember
4. Axe Rake
5. Executioner's Strike
6. Penetrating Blow
7. Shock
8. Ressurection Signet

This build would use Battle Rage, giving both a speed boost and an adrenaline building tool. After 4 attacks (5.33s), adrenaline would be high enough to use. Then, using all 5 adrenal attacks (6.66s) would give a net of 5 adrenal after a total of 12 seconds. Then use that adrenaline to recast Battle Rage and start the process over. Shock and Res Sig are self explanatory.

1. Eviscerate (Elite)
2. Axe Rake
3. Executioner's Strike
4. Disrupting Chop
5. Frenzy
6. Sprint
7. Shock
8. Ressurection Signet

This one is more straight forward. Frenzy is kept up (unless under attack) to build adrenaline. When ready, Eviscerate->Axe Rake->Executioner's Strike-> Disrupting Chop (when the target is trying to help itself). Frenzy is used during spike to make it happen even faster. Sprint and shock for obvious reasons, and Res. Sig. is self explanatory.

Either of these Builds could be adjusted, but those are the basic ideas. Which one would be more effective in PvP?

Eviscerate {e}
Executioners Strike
Penetrating Blow
Swift Chop
Frenzy
Sprint
Gale
Resurrection Signet

I suppose gale>shock is preference, but whatever.
