OK I have found a collector that asks for Icy Lodestones, anyone know how and where to find them??? I thought that maby off of the Ice Elementals but none have droped off of them.

Also if I move on to the Acadamy, I'm guessing that there is a whole new set of quests for post Searing and any uncompleted ones from pre searing will be gone. Do I guess correctly?

Yes, the Academy is the final stage of the 'tutorial'.
Once you get into the Academy, you can't go back, so be sure to finish all the quests you want to finish before entering it (but you don't have to if you don't want/can't).
