What is this beat you speak of? j/k Why is it so hard to understand that this is a challenge which grows in difficulty every time you beat a team. You'll just have to face more opponents every time and your goal is to get as much consecutive wins to prove yourselve to the Zaishen.

You face the NPC's builds . After a certain amount of battles there party starts to increase, the max I've faced against was 8 of them. You do get faction but I don't where it'll cap for you. On Friday I was capped after getting 1k and yesterday I was capped at 3k.
