Hmm
I tend to be level 8 before leaving pre-searing but that's just me, most leave 5-7.
Some tips.
Don't buy any skills you can get the majority through quests, aka don't buy ANY skills for a long time.
When you have an armor with a rune attached to it, salvage it with an "Expert" salvage kit before IDing it.
Save at least "5 of each monster drop" type and get great weapons and decent armor from the NPC collector's in towns and out in the explore zone.

1)6 or 7. Make sure you get all the quests and skills before you leave. And say goodbye to Gwen.
2)Complete the game with the armor you are wearing now. By then you would have enough money for Droknar's Armor. But that's my way of doing it.
My brother on the other hand, had friends in high places, if you know what I mean .
Making money is hard for a new player. There is this thing called farming.
3)The guild Forums are a nice place to look. But sometimes the best places to find a guild are in the game itself. Once you get started and know the game pretty well, it shouldn't be hard to find a guild.
Most guilds are either PvP, or PvE. There are some balanced PvE and PvP and some roleplaying guilds too. Just get on the game and look for advertisements.
Your welcome. My IGN(Don't spam me or I will hunt you down in PvP) is The Infamous Ranger.

1. Level 7 is the level you should shoot for. If you complete ALL the quests in presearing, you should be level 7.
2. Wait until after searing to sell your dyes. Most people leave presearing with 5 dyes, maybe up to 10. Each of the dyes will sell for 75 gold to 500 gold (for a silver) in post-searing. That should get you enough for your armor. Sell everything else in presearing other than a weapon - you should leave with about 400 gold, which is enough to start off in postsearing.
3. If you post on the channel in ascalon city "want to join a guild", you'll have tons of invitations in a few minutes. If you really have a hard time, post that message in district 1 of ascalon city.

Economically that doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Thanks for all the replies. I didnt expect to get this much already. thanks alot. I've played a ton of games like guild wars before(not Runescape) and Im getting the hang of things pretty nicely. But guild wars is a lot more attractive to me.

Agree with everyone about getting to level 7 or 8 before going post.
And yes, save your dyes for post searing as well (That's where you find out that you can sell black dye for up to 7k- not the 1k scammers in Green offer for it)
As for unlocking runes, you may want to go ahead and unlock them yourself - for your PvP character, if you choose to build one. (blue and purple items aren't all that valuable, anyway
If you've got extra materials, sell them to other players. Find out what the merchant or trader is offering to sell them for, and put it up for sale at a lower price than that. As an example, you can sell a wood plank for 3 times what the merchant will pay you for it this way.
Joining a guild shouldn't be a problem - just group up with people to do your questing and missions so you can meet people in the guilds, don't want to hook up with folks you can't get along with!

The chances of someone paying more than 2k above the identified asking price for an unidentified rune would be slim, so i'd rather identify it in the armor, but that's just me

as it is costs me nothing why close out the opportunity for the extra?
i will not lose any value by doing this and may gain something.
