Difficult choice in armor...

Knight's armor or Platemail armor? What would you choose? Is one set clearly better, and I'm just not seeing it, or is it a toss-up decision?

Platemail, if I had to choose between the two; but I'd take Gladiator's over them all, plus Knight's Boots and a +1 weapon helm or Lieutenant's Helm from Henge of Denravi (while the Lieutenant's is still around). At the very least, wear Knight's Boots with the Platemail.

Yes, whatever you do dont get full knights. I assume there are many threads here stating why but the full set (along with ascalon full set) is inferior to armors like platemail and glads. For warrior I would recomend gladiators for the energy boost, gladiators also has the most armor vs physical damage and since you will most likely be tanking, it is good for that.

Glad's with a single piece of Knights/Ascalon is the way to go. Many people choose boots, helm or gloves because they have the smallest energy penalty and the smallest chance of being hit (so the lower AL vs physical doesn't matter 87.5% of the time). Now you don't have to look for the specific reason

If you want to be a tank, take the ascalon helm (looks the best IMO). If you want to be a dmg dealing warrior then go with the weapon attribute +1 helm.

Was just coming in to ask about this. As I am working on my warrior and moving closer to an amor upgrade from Ascalon, I wanted to know what the optimum setup for my armor should be. One concern (yes I know it is a stupid one) is what it looks like all put together. So then I remembered (I hope correctly) that Fissure Armor all looks the same, regardless of what "kind" you get. So that would take away that problem of looks.
So the best setup is to go (all fissure) Glads Chest and legs with Knights boots (or gloves) and Ascalon gloves (or boots). Then to get varrying helms depending on what role you want to play (dmg, tank, run, etc)?
Edit: Just checking guildwiki and it appears there is no such thing as Fissure Knights and most helms are not available.
So what is the best combination of armor (-helm) to give you the best defense while not looking like a total dork?

Full Glads - Helm
Use Ascalon Helm
Together these look great, atleast to me they do.

I wear full glads (knight boots) with plate helm. It's funny to have a fully armored head/face with most of the rest of your body fully exposed :P
But I usually wear my HoD helm - and yes you should get one while they are still around (I smell a nerf

Full glads with ascalon helm because it looks cool and gives the -2 dmg, no way should you go with all knights except for look, untill they fix it to be -2/piece anyway. Never used platemail so I cant comment on that.

From the game's point of view, Knight's and Ascalon armor are the same thing and do not stack. Just get one or the other; for Fissure get Ascalon.
