Officially giving up Ascenion quests for awhile, might not even bother(I LIKE my 2nd profession, why change?). Plus, CANNOT get the Elona mission done! Have tried different groups, different setups, nothings working, so hell with it, Im gonna just work my other characters awhile. I KNOW people have done it, but I dont know how, and I HAVE read the tips in this forum, and they werent helping. So, thats it for me, if I find a mission or run too hard to do, Ill just say forget it(like Droks, a place I might not see, because a run is out of the question, and will NOT pay for it). Will do without before I subject myself to more stress. This game WAS fun at the beginning, but is RAPIDLY becoming a chore.

Nah Im on American, tried all this about 12 times, if, over the next month or 2, it gets to 20, thats it! Ill probably go play something else once I get my other characters to that point. I dont get too easily frustrated, but I would LOVE to know what in Gods name the devs were thinking when they came up with these final missions...

to be honest I worked with a lvl 15 unascended monk in thunderhead keep, it really isn't mandatory, just go to beacons pech and have yourself run.
The object of the game is get to droks, cave of sorrow, mines of maldune/infusion mission, get 15 attribut points, THK misson, fire island chain, then beat the lvl 28 titans, woot end game.
As far as armor, the desert collectors armor is just as good as droks.

lol! My love affair with Elona started by having to do the mission 41 times before I finally succeeded! Keep at it, get high lvl guildies to help you. The mission is really quite easy - with a team who knows their stuff.

LOL! How much money you think I have? All 4 of my chars combined(1 just about to leave Pre, 1 left not too long ago) have a combined total of about 20-22k, so its definitely not affordable(I need that money for things I want/might need), nor desirable, I wont pay for runs. Hell I made a couple free ones myself, just because i enjoy helping people if I can.

Is it too much to ask for people who actually want to complete everything the first time around in the manner in which the game intended to be free of ridicule?
MM build is actually a good choice for Elona, you should be able to do it with henchie that way. Make sure you have all your skills from quest rewards, and take heal area with you for your minions.

Plus, theres the fact that all 4 charactes share a 20 space inventory(need 1 storage for each, IMO), so I dont have alot of room in personal inventory.

Dude! Get a f'ing run to do Elona. Get a f'ing run to Droks, get a f'ing pair of armor there, and ascend your ass. So then, you'd stop ranting about not being able to ascend, " 'coz it's hard ". That's the only way you can ascend. You can't go far in this game if you don't help yourself. After this, it'll be worth the 1.5 run to elona, and the 2k run to droks.
And sorry all, for the cussing words. Just too hard reading this thread w/o feeling annoyed and sad.

i agree that if its your first time through the game you should do missions the right way. however, if you really are that frustrated, you should get a runner. there are people that run for tips, expecially those doing test runs. heck, if you are that cheap, pm me in game whenever im on and i'll run you for free

Don't listen to this guy, if you want my advice. I don't recommend getting run anywhere your first time through, it just leaves you short later, skill wise. The lessons to be learned in the desert will be quite handy later on, epsecially in the end game areas and missions. PM me anytime you want, the guild and I will get you through ascension. Once you've done it a few times, these mid-level missions become quite easy and routine. Baring that, if you want to do it yourself or with hench, just remember the golden rule of pve: small groups. Watch your aggro, pull one group at a time, focus fire, leave bosses till last, and stay off the bridges. Actually, if you apply those few pve truisms, you can do any mission or clear any area. You dont need a run to droks, 3 monks, 7 tanks, or whatever other garbage people spew at you to succeed at pve. Just manage your aggro, fight small groups, and focus your fire. Sunsu Pyro
I agree, if it's your first Character then you should do no running stuff, play the game. I did that when i was started with my ele, with my Warrior and Necro i just got runners. It really does help to have done game properly the first time; plus, you get more of a complete feeling the first time around.

Elona Reach. i remember this desert mission. w/ my first char i wasnt able to complete this thing with a PUG. so i decided that this would be the only thing i would use an actual runner for. i guess i had about 20k because it was my first char, i didnt want to spend it so i farmed charr at nolani (lol i was such a noob, i didnt know good farming spots yet) until i made 1k to pay for a run. after elona i basically finished the game w/o any further runs. my next 2 characters though, i would get a runner from ascalon to the desert and run the whole desert. just make sure u actually "play" the game with your first char. earlier i think i saw a guy doing elona reach for TIPS. if u dont want to spend 1k just look out for tip runners.

I've played since the 1st day of release, and I've yet to ascend a character
I've yet to really do much past Amnoon Oasis! Most of this is because my first and second characters are explorers, so I feel the desire to uncover every inch of the map and this grind can really drain you.

Rant threads are unwelcome here. Feel free to use the search button if you're looking for tips for Elona or Ascension. For what it's worth, you can complete ascension quests with henchmen provided that you have the right setup, otherwise you need half a decent group. Either read the PuG guides to form/join a good PuG, or ask for help to guild mates or GwG readers.
