The game seems to be out of stock in many places (this does not apply to shops).
I already ordered my copy from Play.com; it seems to be one of the few places that stock the standard version of Guild Wars.
I live in the United Kingdom, companies such as GAME, or Amazon.co.uk are out of stock. What’s more, this also applies to the other versions of Guild Wars as well, such as the collector edition.
If you have recently brought a copy of Guild Wars online, could you tell me where did you buy it form?
Anyone brought from Play.com and have any problem?
Have you just recently brought a copy of Guild Wars?

My local GAME, in Hanley, as both the standard and collectors edition sitting on the shelves. Quite a few copies of each too. As for Play.com, I've already pre-ordered Factions and in the past have gotten quite a load of stuff from there. I've never experienced any sort of problem with them whatsoever. Orders have always been punctual and more importantly no damged/dud discs. All in all, I'd recommend them over a fair few other online retailers.
Actually I've just checked, Play.com has standard special and collectors editions in stock.

Hi there, it’s good to see a Brit around.
I have ordered a copy of standard from Play.com indeed.
Just that after I ordered it, I received information and links to some websites that display some cases of business from Play.com.
They seem to have a history to deliver the wrong item to their customers, and would repeat the error in more then twice. I have read at least two cases on a music CD purchase, and an Xbox, both from different websites.
Also, it is said that their information of stock is not always accurate, although I was informed my order status was "Sent", I still worry about rather it will be the actual desired product.

When I bought the game 8 months ago, I had to have the Best Buy empolyee's dig around in the back to get new shipments. It was sold out.
I was just in Best buy last week, there was ONE copy of Guild Wars on the shelf. I'd say its still selling well in my area. (as it should, college town)
Can't wait for it to go on sale again for $29.99...I want to pick up another account.

heh everywhere seems to have it as i see. GAME where i work in Scarborough has had Special Editions sitting around for a couple of months, but by far the cheapest is play.com (£17.99 + free delivery) and play are usually pretty fast (i.e. 1 or 2 days) with delivery. I and friends have bought many things from them and never a problem.
you can always purchase direct from ncsoft:
https://store.plaync.com/home.php
they even offer an instant download/key if you want to go that route.

Also bought other stuff from em and noticed that their delivery times are very diverse. Ordered 3 gamecube controllers (at the same time) and i received 1 every week for about 3 weeks.

However, my pre-order is still listed as being OK. (name & address edited out, for the obvious reasons)
