Rune drops

What gets me a little frustrated is getting the same superior rune over and over. I have gotten enough sup fast casting runes and sup soul reaping runes, the 2 most useless runes in the game. I do however seem to have good luck with getting major vigors(I salvaged 4 in the past 2 days alone). Thats nice at least, makes a nice small chunk of money. Maybe I just haven't been in the right areas. If anyone has any recomendations to where they have gotten good drops. I would rather not have to unlock runes with faction since I need them for my pve characters.

I know there are trolls out there. I don't recall ettins.

Speaking of rune drops, I've noticed a lot of drops showing purple when you pick them up and then when you salvage it, it is actually a minor rune, not a major.

that was in one of the update, depending on the color u can go 1 less. for example a gold, can be a major

Yeah, I noticed that and IMO it is ridiculous. I should never identify a "rare" Pauldon and be left with a major swordsmanship..... It is worth more as a gold armor then if I was to salvage and sell the rune.

Pffft. At least you didnt salvage 3 Major Divine Favor runes from 3 gold armors...back to back to back!!!! I couldn't even make a decent chunk of change off of them. Hell, I'd already unlocked it so I didn't even get THAT pleasure. There's no bigger let down than hoping to finally unlock that elusive superior Vigor or Absorbtion and getting Wammied.

Would it really be that bad for all blues to unlock minors, all purples to unlock majors and all golds to unlock superiors? No, of course it wouldn't but A-Net thinks this is too funny to change. Even devs need a laugh sometimes I guess...

Be grateful you even get many Superior runes.

i found 2 gold unid armor from ettins in the same run, i ID'ed then and got 2 major swordsmenship. LOL OWNED

I was never really bothered by the possibility of getting a purple armor with minor rune or gold armor with major rune, because it depends on what the prof and att of the rune is often more than if it is major or minor. An example would be prices of warrior minor runes compared to warrior major runes. Major runes aren't worth jack, but at least some minor runes are worth 200-500 gold. Really, after I ID an armor, I'll just sell it unsalvaged to a merch if it's not anything good and get a couple hundred gold off it (usually a LOT more than the rune is worth) unless it's a good rune in which case I of course salvage it.

If it makes you feel any better too, I've played this game over 6 months with well over 1k hours and jsut got my first sup vigor a couple days ago. Still never gotten a sup absorbtion.
