Which would you consider the best?

Inc Arrows + Choking Gas

Choking Gas + Practiced Stance

Read the Wind + Punishing Shot

Or any combination/different build for anything of the other? I was thinking the CG + PS one might come in handy for aoe dmg to pve mobs, but not sure if they stray from that sort of stuff or not.

Incindiary Arrows interrupts all skills, but it only lasts 8 seconds, which I think is a ripoff.
I love Choking Gas especially with Practiced Stance. It only interrupts spells though.
Punishing Shot is not in my Interrupting department, because it all it does is interrupt a skill, and adds damage for it. What kind of interrupter needs damage? Waste of an elite if you ask me.

I'd go with the choking gas and practiced stance for areas with spell casters and regular interruption(distracting shot, savage shot) for normal business.

Punishing Shot {E} gets my vote

Punishing Shot {E} + Distracting Shot + Savage Shot + Concussion Shot are more then enough to keep a character shut down... combo'd with RtW as ur prep u should have np interupting

I usually drop concussion shot (Dazed is an interrupters DREAM, but it costs soooo much.) Every now and then I'll sub Migraine for Punishing shot, cause it slows casting time...and makes it easyier to interrupt.

Best for almost all situations is choking gas w/ practiced stance. Build i like to run is

Choking gas
practiced
distract
savage
pin down (sometimes replace this if team build calls for it)
tigers fury
res sig
throw dirt, trap, whatever for last spot (use to run concuss here.. but a bit overkill in most cases, and an aoe blind lets you play gaurd for your casters.)

As long as practiced is in effect when the prep is used youll get the full effect of it, so once choking is up slap on TF and enjoy super fast AOE non-missable interupts of spells. Not a real killer like a punishing shot build would be.. but very very good at messing up any casters outside of protmonks due to an interupt even if youre blind or they have evasion stances/spells.

I think putting all the interruption shots together is a bit overkill on the same theme.

As an interrupter you cannot gurantee 100% shutdown, only a good shutdown mesmer can do that. The person can always run behind something or they can use a stance or they may just stick to their faster casting spells.

I've found the key to interruption is denying the retry. Use arcane connudrum, crippling shot, then the monk will have to either mend ailment or remove hex, either way you're open for a concussion shot. That's where the money is at. dazed + cripple = dead monk.

And distracting shot is substantially better than either punnishing or savage shot. You really only can or need to interrupt that one spell that's crucial, randomly interrupting as often as possible just slows them down and ties you down.

Heh...
They fixed the Ranger recharge skills yesterday. So the full 'shutdown' with all the distracting shots and crap don't work anymore.

^^^ I didn't notice anything change with Distracting Shot

What was it doing before?
I heard it was bugged but I guess I never noticed it.

I heard it was bugged but I guess I never noticed it. it had no recharge and no delay after using Distracting Shot... so u could basically just shoot a constant string of Distracting Shots so long as u could maintain energy... not to mention having a good chance at interupting 90% of the targets skills
