Jade Gorget = New Item?

I obtained this last night after I won HOH. Soon as it hit the ground I was stunned "Wtf is this" came out of my mouth into the vent server. Now I assume it turns into a rune like all armors but I dunno, I've never seen this armor before ever. What else drops this item besides HOH Chests? First thing that comes to mind are the Jade Armors, but futher inspection reveals they drop Mursaat Garments. I've searched all over google and the only thing I can pull up is a EQ item with the same name.
So, has anyone ever seen one of these before? If so, what monster drops it and does it salvage into a rune?
*For those who claim to have also found a Gold Gorget.... show, don't tell please.

lol i was there when it dropped for you mate, as i said before im fairly sure that the jade armours drop them, and yes, its an armour so its just a rune.

The Jade armours drop Mursaat Garments. I know I'd remember something like Jade Gorget.

Free Chest in dreadnaughts? You sure you don't need a shiverpeak key? I thought they did away with all the free chests(besides one in pre and ascalon)

ok heres how you find out what it is:
1. go to nearest merchant
2. purchase identification kit
3. double click the identification kit
4. click the jade gorget
and as if by magic it wil be identified and tell you exactly what it is!!!!11111!!!

There is a free chest in dreadnought, a bit north up dwayna's statue. It's called 'lost chest' and you don't need a key to open it.
Besides, the chest drops about 7+ items at once (but for now i've only seen whites/blues in it).

My guess would be one of the enemies in chapter 2 is gonna drop Jade Gorgets. You just got lucky with this drop and not only got one, but got one with a potential sup rune on it. Most likely a 'normal' rune though, not a rit or a one (never know though 
)

once identified it summons into a jade minion that will follow you like a pet..and you can return or let it out whenever you double click it.. identify to see what traits it has.. dire/hearty/etc..

being that it has the same basic root:
gargoyle
"grotesque carved waterspout," 1286, from O.Fr. gargouille "throat, waterspout" (see gargle).
It would only stand to reason that it's a gargoyle drop from pre-searing Ascalon...a VERY rare gold drop, usually only seen in the Catecombs whilst under the influence of Hunter's Ale.

A terribly ferocious creature of the Underworld with the Elite Skill: Bitchslap, which renders an enemy dazed for 30 seconds, followed by a new condition: Vomiting, where your character cannot attack for an additional 15 seconds if already suffering from the condition: Incontinence.

Seen 'em before. A long time ago there was a thread about the Gorgets, and the prevailing theory is that Jade Armors were originally supposed to drop those, but then for some reason they got switched to the Muursat Garments. It is a regular salvagable armor piece, nothing crazy. As has been said, you can get them from the special chests. I have gotten them from the special chests that used to be in Riverside.

Lasher, yes I belive this is true as well. At first I thought maybe it was a chapter two monster or maybe it was a monster that was in Alpha that had a name change or was taken out. In any case it would most likely have to be a high level monster. But looking at the name and the image of the material makes it certainly look like Jade Bows could definatly have dropped these.
Why change it to Mursaat garments? Probably to distinguish that Jade Bows are indeed affiiliated with Mursaat. Since Jades dont have Mursaat in their name nor look similar to mursaat some people might get confused. At least that's the thing most logical to me.

I think there's a few chest-only salvage items. I have a purple unid "Phantasmal Armor" I got from a chest in UW (got it weeks ago, and haven't ID'd it.)

These aren't items from factions, you could get them from chests (Lost Strongbox, Frozen Chest, Chests in UW/FoW after completing quests) since like forever..

The Lost Strongbox and Frozen Chest are in Dreadnaughts Drift. They've been farmed to death and rarely give anythng decent anymore. Both are always there and neither require a key.
There is also a random Lost Strongbox that spawns outside THK. Exit and look right.
