I think the new "whole party" map travel feature is a great idea! Love the idea of the whole group being able to map from one place to the next.
BUT - I see a problem with it, as well. There are a lot of malicious, unscrupulous type people out there and it worries me that these folks could use it to screw people around. Suppose that someone decided on their own to map back to town just to prevent you from picking up that green or gold item dropped for you! Or if you're just about to kill the Lich and POOF you're "magically" transported to Ascalon City! That would suck.
To reduce this threat, I think that the group travel feature should be limited to the party leader. Shouldn't be hard to arrange, as the "enter mission" "add player" and "arrange guild battle" options are keyed exclusively to the leader. Party members should keep the ability to map travel, but would leave the party if they chose to do so.

I can see it now...
Ascalon City
"Traveling to Ember Light Camp for 10k!"
Perhaps it should limit the party travel to areas where everyone has been?

Play the game first, suggest after
edit: Beat by few seconds again!!1 stop ninjaposting people!
Legendary Necromancer
I think you misunderstood my post...
For example:
Zaishen Elite grounds. If the party leader in Zaishen Challenge has access to Zaishen Elite, then that leader can take his entire party of people that have never been there and travel them there.
Happened to me by accident. Anyway, forget my post. On to the topic at hand.

Isn't the map travel feature for party leader only as is? Haven't tried, but I think so... Anyone tried? It already is restricted. Party members need to have the places on their maps to travel there. Play the game first, suggest after edit: Beat by few seconds again!!1 stop ninjaposting people! |
But yes, mapping can be done outside of outposts and towns, but you'll be the only one mapping. And yes, leaders can group map the party to locations you have already been to. However if say your in Droknar with a group of 8 and map to Ascalon... 4 of the group will drop. You can also map with henchies anywhere. They will lv up or down accordingly and you will lose members when mapping to an area with smaller group allowed.

Cherno
I like the new map travel system, but it needs one more little tweak.
I would like to be able to as the party leader warp the entire party out of an instance into a town, not just town to town.
For example, doing some of the path's quests it would be nice to get one done, and warp the whole party out to the next city (that they have all been to) without having to either return to town or organize a meeting district.
It is weird because now you can travel from an instance to a town and keep henchies with you, but not real people in your party.

Sure, it would be good on 'good & nice' teams with good people, but unfortunately all people aren't that good.

I would have to agree with Kaguya it may look good but it would be more problematic. Plus the only people who would befit the most from it are runners.

But what Cherno was implying was he wanted the map back feature for when a qeust was completed and map the party together back to the town where they got the quest to get the reward instead of separately leaving the group as people so now.

If the map party feature as Cherno implied runners can get just out side of Droknars collect the money and map whole party back to Becaons and leave party with the money. Same with Elona Reach pay at last crystal, if one person/dishonest runner would collect the money map party back and leave the group with the money.
Thus “people who would befit the most from it are runners.”
