R/Mo Solo guide: Forest of the Wailing Lord
LAMS3K
Instead of keeping this a secret I've decided that revealing it in a thread would be more fun. Anyways, you can find the guide here: Click Here Comments, Suggestions?

Very impressive. My ranger might not be deleted after all
Shusky
Indeed, very impressive. Soloing FoW with a Ranger, the very idea seems surreal
Scary thing about this build is initial cost - easily 20k on armor alone, not counting raw materials and with a Major Vig instead of Sup. And probably several plat on entrance fees before you master it enough to get loots. However, seeing how profitable soloing this place can be, I'd be willing to test this if I had more time these days.
Looking forward to see how it works for other people. I love how it actually involves activity on player's part, not the good ol' aggro-griffins-and-click-a-sequence. Accept this Eternal Cookie for figuring this out

Cookie accepted. You could use Ascalon City armor it would cost considerably less. You are only affected by your armor level when Protective Spirit and Protective Bond are not active. A Major vigor would work, I think a minor would too.

Way to go in depth, might have to try this one.

I've been trying to decide what to change my 2nd prof to. I'm R/E right now. I did this because I thought the extra fire damage would be great, but I'm not feeling it. So, I've been trying to decide between R/Mo, R/Me or R/W. I've been reading up on all builds and each has it's advantages and disadvantages. But this may have tipped the scales toward R/Mo.
LAMS3K
Hopefully for those of you who try it, it will not take long to get the hang of it. On another note a R/Me can solo the Fissure Shore excluding the Ancient Skales. Here is the build, I am not going to write a guide for it.
Skills:
Penetrating Attack
Troll Unguent
Ether Feast
Apply Poison
Storm Chaser
Elemental Resistance
Dryder's Defenses
Greater Conflagration
Attribs:
Illusion: 0
Domination: 0
Inspiration: 8 (8)
Beast Mastery: 1 (1)
Expertise: 12 (9+3)
Wilderness Survival: 11 (11)
Marksmanship: 13 (10+3)
You need Drakescale armor for this build unless you wish to take twice as much damage.
Cast Greater Conflagration and use Elemental Resistance against the Snarling Driftwood. Keep them poisoned.
Just use skills when fighting Doubter's Dryders so Wastrels Worry does not kill you.
Lure with a longbow.
Against spiders you need to heal and do damage. Poison them and use pen attack. Keep Troll Unguent up at all times. When using Ether Feast, use Dryder's Defenses first so you only take 9 damage from Called Shot and use Ether Feast. While hoping Savage Shot will not hit you thanks to DD's 75% chance to evade attacks.
There is a really cheap way to kill Armored Cave Spiders. With a longbow run up and shoot a arrow with poison and then run away. The spider will use Apply Poison, if you are out of range the spider will not use Healing Spring. Wait 24 seconds for the spider's Apply Poison to run out and repeat. If you shoot too early the spider will use Healing Spring.
Clearing the Spider Cave this way is way too time consuming with minimal rewards. If you are looking for a quick gamble just kill the Snarling Driftwood and Doubter's Dryders and open the Obsidian Chests.
DO NOT ENGAGE THE ANCIENT SKALES.
I believe a R/Mo can do this as well and possibly better. I'll come up with one later, my first few builds tried to take on the Ancient Skales, but the degen is just too much.
The videos were longer but something happend.

I can't view the web link in the first post, if some one could post the skill list and a brief description i would appreciate it.
LAMS3K
Thanks for letting me know. It appears that someone unplugged my web server to use a copy machine. It should work now, and it is on a more permanent power source.

Doesn't protective bond only work on other allys?
capblueberry
not 2 bad
LAMS3K
Unless it has been changed in the last 24 hours, Protective Bond is target ally.

I might just grab some cheapo armour for my ranger and take a

Glad to see my question made it in the guide
Great job. Haven't perfected the build yet, but training is what it takes.
