You cant make a weapon a differnt colour even if you give it max mods.So if it was blue itll stay blue.

Purple and Gold are based upon the level of the weapon compared with the level of the mob that dropped it. YOu can't see the level of the weapon yourself, but certain stats change as the level increases. Compare these stats against the level of the mob that dropped the weapon and you get purple or gold.

Go to the trade forum here, then price check, then weapon mod baseline
pricing, you can see all the available mods for each weapon and there current
market price. When you find a new weapon check and see if anything is installed, and what the damage bonus is, i.e.(13% damage health above 50%).

Sorry for asking, but I never modded weapons before. If I have a Gold sword, and I have a blue mod, will it turn blue or stay gold? Sorry, just wanted to ask.

Weapons always stay the color they were, even if they were modded. The only exception is white weapons, which turn blue if modded with any mod.

A white weapon is just a normal, run of the mill skeleton of an item, a blue one is the same, only it is unidentified and, upon identification, may have mods (not always). Purple items are also unidentified and are more likely to have more mods, i.e. it may be a sword with a pommel, a hilt, and another mod such as reduces poisoned duration, or +12% damage while health is below 50%. Gold items are called rares. They are the most likely to have alot of mods. Golds will almost always have 3 mods on them if they are weapons, or multiple mods on them if they are offhands, this may lead one to believe that gold items are the only way to get good mods. Wrong. You could find the coolest and most desired sword in the game, have it be purple and be like "shoot... no good." but when you identify it you may find it has 1 or more max mods on it. So they are always worth picking up and they are always worth Identifying. Hope this helped
