Guide: Solo Thirsty River
sno
It was brought to my attention that a copyright law prohibited me from posting this build identical to its original source, and therefore I have rewritten it to my satisfaction, creating in my opinion a better and more organized guide. Enjoy.
Attributes:
16 death
10 curses
10 soul reaping
Skills:
glyph of lesser energy
animate bone fiend
barbs
strip enchantment
defile flesh
taste of death
ventra's sacrifice
glyph of renewal (elite)
Armor:
Scar patterns, superior death, minor curses/soul reaping
Weapon: (ideally one of these, although any will work fine)
Bortak's bone cesta+collectors death truncheon
collectors death cesta+collectors death truncheon
20/20 Insightful Bone Staff of Death Magic (+5, 20%)
Setup:
You will need a healer henchman, with the option of 4 others (customers, henchmen, guildies, whatever.) If you're taking customers, it's important they know to stay close (to avoid the healer hench getting confused.) Also make sure they know to skip the cutscene (or your minions will die) and to not talk to the ghost. You may need them to help kill rockshots, since they interupt and can be annoying.
While fighting:
-Use glyph of renewal on veratas sacrifice, to maintain a constant veratas.
-Use glyph of lesser energy on animate fiends while it's recharging to maximize total number of fiends.
-Avoid rockshots, as they will interupt you. Once you have a minion base rockshots are no problem, as you wont need to cast in order to kill them.
-Do not rely on the healer hench. If your health gets low, use taste of death on one of the minions.
Strategy:
First clear the opening area, starting with the sand giants, and build your minion base. Cast veratas just before you talk to the ghost for the cutscene, so none of them will die. Clear each area, making sure to kill the priest before the 2 minute mark. Use strip enchant on the arcanists if they have kinetic armor up. When you get to the 2nd boss, wait for him to cast kinetic armor, and as he's casting cast strip enchantment. If you wait until it's already cast, he'll have ether renewal up and that will be stripped leaving kinetic armor.
In the next area, kill the cursebearers first, followed by the avengers, then the boss, and then the priest. Use a longbow to pull the cursebearers and avoid aggro from the avengers. Always be careful to make sure your fiends have a clear view of the targets, and aren't shooting into a wall.
In the third area, head west to the monk boss. Aggro both groups outside the gates, and kill the cursebearers first. Cast barbs and defile on the enchanted bow, the boss, and then when they're dead, on the priest. Strip aegis when you can. If the priest resurrects before he's dead, run behind the wall in the room (behind where the priest spawns) and you won't be hit.
Before you go after the next groups, make sure you wait until they're about to res, so you don't do any unnecessary killing. Cast defile flesh on the priests when they're at 50% health, as they'll be more likely to heal.

I got ran by some random warrior/monk guy, from what I could see he just lured the different groups and made them kill eachother or something, unfortunately the guy told us to stay outside view range of him so we couldn't see what exactly he was doing.
Oh he was doing it solo.

I've tried doing with a warrior once, I could only get to the third boss with my supposedly correct build...

bump, to shed the light on a new service

I saw a warrior solo. All he did was AoE attacks and he'd draw the dif teams agaisnt each other and then kill the priests
Bloodied Blade
I can 55 the entire mission, the priests are stupid enough to attack you to thier death...
It takes a while, but it's doable and I'm working on a build to post for it.
I guess another way for a n/* to do this would be to do what that warrior did, toss an aoe curse on all of them and draw them together, then spike the priests down and run cleanup.

I usually solo Thirsty with a N/R, but this seems nice. I'll try it out! Thanks sno.
Shifty Five Monk
I can personaly vouch for this build, I gave it a try yesterday on my necro and made a quick 20k (5k per pesron) while I was waiting for favor. Although, I am considering swiching out glyph of lesser energy for Blood of the Master because the regen from veretta's is a good heal, but I feal like i can keep more up at one time with BotM.
Othen then that I think the build was really effective, energy managment is not a problem and the only hard ones were the ones with aoe damage ie: earthquake, choas storm cause minnions arent smart enough to move. I lost minnions there but still was able to beat it. I love the strip enchant to get rid of kenetic armor too, it helps a lot.
This is, in my mind, a great alternative to UW farming when you don't have favor, I completed the mission in aout 20 min which is a good 40k an hour which i dont mind at all.
[edit] I woudl suggest bringing bloodstain boots for your foot armor becasue you reaise minnions 25% faster with it since the update

I use same build as you, but i got replaced Taste of Death with Weaken Armor. Weaken Armor helps you kill bosses much faster, since you dont even need healing if you get healer hench (and strip enchantment.)

Slice n Two Dice
Sorry for noob questions, but is this for a N/E? I have an N/Mo and was wondering if there was a build to run mish with that orientation.

Oh he was doing it solo. I think I posted the build on another thread, but I guess I'll post it here too. All you need is the basic wammo build... not kidding. W/Mo 15 {12+3} Swordsmanship 9 {8+1} Strength 9 {7+1+1} Tactics (I just put points into tactics because I don't have a strength shield... but meh) 8 Healing Prayers * NOTE: These attributes may be a bit off... I'm too lazy to check right now. Sever Artery Gash Galrath Slash Final Thrust Healing Breeze Healing Hands {E} Mending You don't even need to pull the mobs to get them to fight. Just hack and slash away after you have mending up, then use Healing Breeze if you get into the mid 300 health range. If you're seriously getting beaten on, use Healing Hands. This is only in dangerous situations, however, when you have <150 health. Just rush the priests and then kill the bosses. That's it. .killjoy
Sno you always have great working builds for the community people always are looking for this thus you make a nice guide to soloing thirsty, uw and other great builds I've tried all of yours all seem to work and I take your and cerbs adive when it comes to necro stuff
![]() Great stuff in general man. mint
lol...I just tried running with the wammo, and it made me sad.
I had been going through the pains of using an MM all this time and a simple w/mo build could do it just as easily ![]() Slice n Two Dice

Shifty Five Monk
N/mo is probably the worst MM build, the best is n/e with GoR, the N/R with serpents quickness, then n/mo. Thats what i believe from my MM experiences at least. So far ive made 60k of sno's build so im happy with that.
[edit] Don't forget you can easily change your secondary in the desert and you keep all ur monk skills, just cant use em. Lonk
I figured knowledge of doing Thirsty River with a minion master solo was a little more common, but I too can vouch for it being doable, though personally I wouldn't worry too much about the 2-min mark for auto res, just means you'll be making more minions and therefore making yourself stronger.
My personal favorite skill here, as previously mentioned, is Taste of Death, a great lifesaver for any Minion Master and I can see almost no reason to not have it on your bar at all times when playing a MM build. nomed
i've been run by a warrior and we needed to res him about 5 times and even help him to kill the last monster, but he solo'd the first 3 groups which was amazing.
i'm not good with warriors, but i remember him using the skill gash and the usual tank protecting skills. Slice n Two Dice
Ok so this is an N/E build? Right.
