What is the minimun lvl i have to be to ascned to lvl 20?

I was LvL 16 than once I ascended I became LvL 20 almost rdy to
advance again.

i guess il try 15 maybe ive been lvl 19 befor ei usauly get to 20 just form dragons lair

Even 50,000 XP wont take you from level 1 to level 20.

Walking around Augury Rock the other night, I saw another player who was level 3 and complaining that he couldn't do the ascension. He kept typing in "I'm a level 3 N/Mo and can't beat my mirror since he's lvl 20! That's BS!"

How the hell did he get THAT far and stay at such a low level?! And why would anyone want to?

He got ran there, and people do it because the game is horribly boring until after ascention anyway.

doing the missions the third time through or so is also incredibly fast and you'll gain XP so you canmove on immediately from the desert. Doing the missions for me after second time is like running while having something to do. It is the running that is incredibly boring....especially if you are not the runner.
I do use runners to get me from augory rock to all places and missions in the desert though so i am not anti-running. I would just say..do the missions quickly and i do not believe it is a much (probably somewhat) slower way to finish the game.

For reasons mostly having to do mostly with ones ego, or because one can not be bothered to play all the missions again for a fourth time but still wants another ascended character with PvE access.

lol this is where I feel pitty for the guy. I didn't plan initially having my fourth character ran but then later did so I beat my mirror at level 13. But if I ever would plan arriving in the desert at level 3, it sure as hell would be as a Me/Ne or Ne/Me. Those can beat the mirror at rediculously low levels and its a breeze.

Lvl 15 is the minimum if u want to b lvl 20

I ascended my mesmer at lvl 11. She got lvl 16. So, yes. The level difference after the ascension is 5 levels.

i ascended my necro at lvl 6...i would have been lvl 3, but i could not find anyone to solo thirsty river. I poked around for a bit to get to lvl 5 or so, and leveled upon completion of bonus and mission. it was funny going to the old tombs (when it was pvp), and was like LVL 13 MM LFG R5! bwha

Excuse me but what the hell are you talking about ? Lets review the conversation, please tell me what I missed.
The question (according to my understanding) was that at which minimum level will the process of Ascension take you to level 20 directly ? Its not possible to be level 20 immediately post-ascension if you ascend at level 1 so what you said made no sense.

I always get power lvled to around lvl 14 then I have enough points for the skills required to beat my mirror image. Then when i ascend I hit lvl 19. So to answer your question lvl 15

Level 20 requires 140,600xp. Ascending gets you 50,000xp, so you need to have 90,600xp when you ascend to hit level 20, which would put you about 2/3 of the way through level 15.

fallot, Murder In China is probably remembering the way ascension used to work, where it made you level 20 regardless of your level, rather than just giving you 50kxp.
