Just wonderign what kind of temperatures everyone else here was getting, use Lavalys Everest Home edition to check, heres mine:
27 degrees mobo
28 degrees CPU
51 degrees GPU (o_0)
32 degrees GPU memory
27 degrees HDD
(all in celcius)
What temps are you all running at?

check for good air flow through the case dust bunnies in the heatsink/fan etc
my present CPU temps go from high 30`s to very low 40`s
those temps are in the watercooling range or simply incorrect.

Old school style burn everything up:
CPU runs around 70C at full load
CPU socket around 55C
Case(sensor on the mobo) around 40C
Of course the fact that my case sits inside a cabinet type enclosure couldn't hurt at all.

My temps are not incorrect!
Not watercoolign either!
I'll show you a pic of my setup, just good ol regular air cooling, with kick ass wire management...*spent 3 hrs workign out the wires for optimal airflow*

Well, HDDs are around 31'C (Got 4 of them, 7200RPM Hitachi disks), GPU (GF6800GT with stock cooler) idling at 57'C, and CPU (A64 3200+) idling 40'C (~500grams of copper with 90mm or so fan). Case cooling by two 120mm fans, which are running at silent mode at the time of measuring (voltage on the fans closer to 5V).
Could prolly drop quite a few degrees by hitting the fans to max, but that would make the hum ohso annoying.

course I do this @ 4 in the morning cuase they took 6hrs on testing the watercooling system...
then later found out they fried a motherboard while I was asleep

For my mini-itx box; 1 fan total; no PSU fan or CPU fan; just 1 case fan.
yha everest doesnt always give correct readouts on "specialty" motherboards.
(my 8GB HDD doesnt have senors on it)

"specialty" motherboards (my mini-itx I think its special; so is nano-itx); well everest doesnt have every sensor type bound to have awierd readout :S

CPU @ 19.7 degrees C (never get's above 26 degrees C under a full load)

Both on air. Case cooling solution - 4 fans, 2 x 80mm and 2 x 120mm. The two 120's are exhaust fans whilst the two 80's pull the air in.
Motherboard sensor is disabled, but i'm guessing it's running pretty cool too.

PSU w/ 2 fans, both expelling air, a 120mm fan expellign air to back 2 80mm fans for intake, one at front one on side and a fan in the pci slot below that below the Vid card which blows air out, a 60mm one but very silent, makes no noise difference.

If you really need me to i will take pics of the guts of my setup and show you how i have it.

Ummm....it's not really useful to compare CPU temps unless you list which CPU you're using. CPUs vary greatly in acceptable operating temps...

It's also worthwhile to mention that mobo sensors are awful and always inaccurate. And that it must be said whether this is load or idle. CPUs can change 30 degrees between the two.
Like Azagoth for example with 19C idle and 26C max load. That's totally impossible. 19C is 66F! 26C is a whole 79F! If you are running those temps, your room must be about 50F.

Look, at full load my CPU doesnt climb above 40. And i mean FULL load. GPU climbs up to 57 at full load. It is not impossible it is called good cooling & good cable management. Room temperature doesnt account for much my room temp is at 23 celsius... soo... yeah, before you state that "ITS IMPOSSIBEL" look @ facts and at all posts.

If you have a dual-core CPU make sure you're running 2 instances of Prime95 with the CPU affinity set correctly for each instance (usually 0 for one instance and 1 for the other).

I think he might be able to get his results, but it'd take a really beefy CPU cooler and a rather cold room to pull it off. For a comparison point, my CPU is currently running @ 52 degrees Celsius. Usually, people think of temperatures in Fahrenheit, so I'll convert it, and leave the formula for anyone else who wants to check my math. (Fahrenheit = Celsius times 1.8 plus 32) / (F=C*1.8+32) This puts my CPU at 125.6 degrees Fahrenheit, about the equivalent of a hot summer day. HDS claims his CPU runs at 28 C, or 82.4 F. CPU at 82.4 degrees is something I'd say "not likely" to, but not necessarily "impossible."
Edit: HDS also says that it's only 28 C idle, and at completely full load for 3 hours it hits around 40 C, or 104 F. Again, I say unlikely, but not impossible. It's quite possible that various factors in his PC and the PC's environment have allowed it to reach water-cooling temps on an air cooler. HDS, if I were you I'd take advantage of that and maybe overclock that frigid little CPU of yours. Maybe it feels underworked.
