Weird Questions

OK, I stated GW. When the movie started, I skipped it and went to the destroyed Ascalon. So I was looking everywhere for the academy, but I could not find it.
2 days later...
I make a character for my friends, he insists we do intro and I end up in this nice pretty happy Ascalon. So now I know why I couldn't find the academy, because it's not in the other one. But the problem is, I couldn't get into the academy. Why is that? And what should I do when I start.
But I was able to get support proffession in Old Ascalon talking to this Warrior guy. Only Warrior though.

Were you at level 3+ before attempting to enter the Academy? They won't let you in until you're at the minimum level requirement.
Kiwi
I was 1, with my new character.
But, what else i wanna know is, what exactly did I miss with my main.
I wanna know so I wont make the mistake in the final copy.

Not sure what you meant when you asked what you missed with your main. When you make a new character, you're put into Pre-seared Ascalon, whether you sit through the movie or not. It's a training grown of sorts for you to level up and get your secondary skills. There are at least 2 skill trainers for each profession there.
As for the academy, you can't go in till you're at least level 3.

I never did pre-seared Ascalon.
But what are you supposed to do there? And when do you go to regular Ascalon?

You pretty much lvl up some, gain both your professions and a pretty good set of skills to start out with, along with getting an overall feel of the game and how it works
This also happened to me but slightly different. I created the character more or less 5 minutes after the BWE started. I ran around for a minute or two then the client asked me to restart the game since a new build was avilable. Restarted then somehow I ended up in Seared Ascalon. Deleted my character the next morning, recreated it and everything works fine.

OK, OK, I'm confused. Is most of the game in seared-ascalon?
And how do you get to Seared-Ascalon from Preseared-Ascalon?
And how do you get to Seared-Ascalon from Preseared-Ascalon?
Redd Sciron
I belive so. Old Ascalon is what you could call the "n00b" area. Its just there so you can start off your charcter. You do have a few areas to explore and mess around in, but from what I have heard the majority of the game is in new Ascalon
Kiwi
OK, so your not like time traveling are you?
Joysze
No time traveling involved. Once you leave Pre-seared, you can never go back. Here's how it works:
When you make a new character, you start in Preseared. There are LOTS of quests that you can do to level up. Run around, get your 2nd profession, get some free skills, enjoy the sights, get some easy XP.
Once you hit level 3, I would suggest waiting till you're level 5, and when you're ready to leave Pre-seared, go to Sir Tydus and tell him you want to enter the academy. You'll have to do a PvP session. Whether you win or lose that, you'll still have to go through and kill some stuff. Then it cuts to a movie with the charrs' invasion.
After that you're in Post-seared. 95% of the game will take place here. Pre-seared is just a training ground.

nope. wish I could though, but nope
Kiwi
Thank you, I totally understand now. Are there any plot thingys in preseared, or is it just practice, leveling, quests, etc.
Joysze
Not much plot thingies. It's just a way for you to know the people. When you get into Post-seared, you'll see the Duke etc and go... OH! I remember him. That kinda stuff.
Redd Sciron
practice, extremely tiny bits of plot on some of the quests but the little intro cut scene covers 99% of the plot for pre-seared ascalon
Loviatar
dont enter the academy until level 6-7 as it is easy exp and gold
it is the training area so you might as well explore all of it and enjoy the scenery
one of my characters is staying in pre just for vacations
the red seared askalon is a local disaster and there are many beautiful lands waiting for you
after you get into red askalon simply look around and then head out to the great northern wall mission or explorable old askalon area next door and get some experience and more money for better gear and be sure to get a basic salvage kit for the raw crafting materials you will need

I know all that Loviator. I've explored Seared Ascalon, gone to Regent Valley, attained level 6, etc.
But turns out I didn't get Ressurrection Signet, (since my comp messed and I skipped the who happy green Ascalon) so I made a new character and I got stuff. He's a lot better and I got some nice skills.
These are my old skills:
1) Healing Signet
2) Power Shot
3) Favorable Winds
4) Lightning Reflexes
5) Dodge
6) Gash
7) Sever Artery
8) Charm Animal
Note: Thats R/W6
These are my new skills:
1) Power Shot
2) Troll Unguent
3) Ressurection Signet
4) Charm Animal(I got a panther!!! Unlike last time, since I skipped the happy Ascalon)
5) Comfort Animal
6) Conjure Phantasm
7) Ether Feast
8) Imagined Burden
Note: Thats with R3, but when I go to academy I'll have R/Me. That's why i have those Mesmer skills.
