Well, I'm torn here. I accidentally sold 20/20 sundering string, that I paid handsomely for, a few days ago. Yay 25 gold. However, if it means Anet spends x amount of time for this, while ignoring the plethera of glitches, bugs, and other, much more important (in my opinion) needs of the game, then just leave it. I blame myself. I always have the option of moving things into storage first.

Don't think it is hard to implement in the game but really it's as some people said, just put a quest item in front. Still, I wouldn't mind if they implemented this.

just put your armor in your belt pouch and bags, then next time your at a merchant choose not to view items in belt pouches or bags. my belt pouch is used for weapons and bags for my armor sets and it works wonders.

Yes I already use an un-sellable item to block my id/salvage kits from being sold. But why waste a slot to hold something I don't use while playing when it could go in storage. The checkmarks in the merchant are nice but human error still prevails (forget to uncheck one? bummer), not all people who mess up are careless; trust me I'd love to have somebody's "perfect" brain.

It funny cause on all the threads I've read, the simple ideas like this one that would just lend a little bit of help or more enjoyment to some players always get flack from others, even though the suggestion would not hurt the people who don't want to use it. You get the “well if your not perfect deal with it” type answer or if you want something else that some others don't find valuable in the game they act like it your some kind of scum, I don't understand why people are so against having a mmorpg enjoyable for all. Guild Wars is great because you can pick and choose certain things you want to focus on that are enjoyable for you.

Granted this is not a proposal I expect to be given top priority but at some point they might have some free time to spend on the little things.

Just move all your things in your last bag and uncheck it in the merchant window so you can't sell anything from there.
But yea, I'd like this feature, it would work well.

This is the solution I use. Just fire all the stuff you don't want to sell into a bag or beltpouch then clear the relevant check box at the merchant.

Still, /signed, why not?

Well if this does not go through put your expensive items in bags and you can make those bags not appear when you talk to the merchant....DUH?

/signed if it makes the item disappear from the merchant window. (i.e. you have this nice gold in the middle of your bag, and you do this checky thing and it no longer is displayed in the merchant window.)

Though, I will admit that I'm careful with my selling. Enough horror stories here, etc. Thankfully, I've not accidently sold something I didn't want to yet. And I only have my backpack checked on for the merchant, lol.

I do this, but it would be better to have a lock on the items.

Uncheck bags at merchant is not good option since many times you are inventory full and there is junk on your bag and you have to unlock it to sell stuff there.

I make the merchant not show my last bag and keep all my valuables in there, generally covered by something unsellable so i cant go past it in a sell cycle.

Really expensive weapons get put into a weapon slot also to prevent selling, but /signed as it would save the hassle.

Everquest 2 has this. You put a little checkmark beside an item to say that you don't want to sell it.
Is very useful, because accidents can happen sometimes.

For now I put all my precious stuffs in the last two bags and disable them from the seller's window.

Agree that some kind of checkmark system would be nice. Buyback system like in WoW is handy as well.

Played this morning with the char that I use for trading and she had bunch of caster weapons on her inventory ready for trading. Surprise surprise, accidental double-click during little lag spike while selling crap to merchant and there goes rago's flame staff .

Own stupidity perhaps, but game shouldn't be so punishing in those situations.

/not signed... you need to be more careful, else just put a quest item infront or close the bag off.

When would it be enough?

"are you sure you wish to sell your e-peen?" - yes/no

"are you sure you were supposed to say yes to the previous question RE: your e-peen?" - yes/no

"are you sure you wish to say yes to confirm that you said you wished to sell your e-peen?" - yes/no

simply open the sell window and uncheck those big green checks over any bag/pouch/backpack you dont want to sell out of

nice idea but since about my 1st month of play ive been using a quest item to hide items behind. also delecting bags from the sell menu works.

good items to hide stuff behind are festival hats, common quest items you can easily replace.

when i 1st played i did sell a niceish gold weapon to the trader due to lag, after that...i learnt to be careful.

It's like getting a joke played on you.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Seriously, if you pay attention and hit storage first, and use the locked bag feature THAT'S ALREADY THERE!!!, you shouldn't be having problems....

I really don't think this is needed. There's already measures that you can go to to ensure your items don't get sold. Also, if you didn't spam the button, you wouldn't have a problem. There's been twice that I've sold something I wanted. Once on the very first day I played, I sold a weapon that was quite decent (it wasn't that great from memory, but bear in mind that this would have been in pre searing and I was a newb). The other time was when I lagged and clicked it twice before realising. So now, I pay more attention to what I'm selling, and I always wait for the item to be sold before moving on to the next one. Seriously, it takes all of a quarter of a second usually to sell it. I'm sure you can wait that long before hitting the sell button again.

I thought about this for a while
Although the unticking thing works, also the quest item thing too it would still be nice to have a warning before you sell stuff, like you get with armor
I accidentally sold a black dye to a merchant once..

I would like to see this implemented, I currently use the quest/non-saleable item to block, but sometimes I need even that spot as storage space is getting more and more elusive,....maybe I'm just a hoarder

Still, I have in the past accidentally sold stuff I didn't want to (once a black dye, d'oh !!!).

Most people sell a good item to the merch, then think, I don't wanna do that again! So they take quest item/ticking measures. Why should this happen, just add the official block, does it hurt anyone?
