Lets break it down.
:: A Droknars Forge run : takes from 20-40 minutes (including filling a group), 7 people in your group 2-3 k per member, thats about 16k per run average. If you can fill 2 groups and finish 2 an hour, you make around 30k. Now thats not bad, I think we can all deal with that if we have the skills, armor, experiance, and equipment to finish one of these runs. But equipment is costly and the learning curve is steep.
:: A Deldrimor War Camp run : will take you from Camp Rankor up to the Warcamp in about 10-15 minutes, filling a group here is pretty easy (maybe not since the update, but people still get to Granite Citidel via the warcamp) and 1k seems to be the standard per person. Now this run only takes about 10-15 minutes, with 7 party members, 1k per member, brings our total to 7k per run, now with these runs you can complete (conservatively) 4 per hour. That brings us to 28k per hour... hmmm not so far off the forge run.
-Now for this run you can use a build like:
1.healing sig
2.Balanced stance
3.shield stance
4.Sprint
5.Charge {elite}
6.Purge conditions
7.Smite hex * or holy veil
8.Mending
-Not a very complicated build, with a low learning curve that many warriors that simply have gladiators armor (can be done with other sets as well, but I prefer glads), an alright axe/sword, and shield, and some major runes, can make.
::Running in The Desert can be profitable and is a great way to learn the ropes of running. A simple run from to augury rock from the Amnoon Oasis can pick up 400-500 gold per member, 5 members, 2.5k per run, average 5-7 minutes per run (provided you can fill a group fast). This would, because you can't usually fill group after group for this run, gross you about 10-15k per hour if you work at it. For this run you can start out at the oasis, zone, tell your party members to stay there at the zone because they always manage to mess up teleporters... and head for the teleporter.
TELEPORTER OPERATION So many people in game have questions about this. My strategy is to either run past, or onto the pad, as long as you run out of mobs agro circles, and then turn and look at the 4 buttons. They will light up in some order, 1,2,3,4. You simply hop off the pad and press the buttons IN THIS ORDER, and jump back on the tele-pad and you are transported to the adjacent teleporter.
After the teleporter you can almost fall asleep and wake up when you get there it is so easy. You simply weave up the dunes to Augury, most of the mobs dont even mind if you agro them. They just keep on their paths and you cruise into Augury 2.5k richer!
:: Other Desert runs : as far as running to the following from augury rock:
Elona Reach: 300 gold or for tips.
Thirsty River: 500 gold or for tips.
Dunes of Dispair: 500 gold or for tips.
------------
Hero's Audiance: about 200-500 gold (hard to find customers)
Destiny's gorge: about 200 gold (hard to find customers)
Seekers Passage: about 500 gold (hard to find customers)
Running for tips is a very fun way to run. I like it because I find that if while I run, I talk to people, find out how they are doing both in guild wars and off, that people mostly tip generously, I have even been tipped obsidion shards for easy runs like a couple desert cities. I find that it is a good way to help others out too, who cares if 4 people tip well and one person only has a couple charr hides or something to tip with. You get someone further in the game and feel good about it

::Running in The Jungle : Lastly, and where I started running, was in the jungle based at Quarrel Falls. You can usually fill a group to run to Ventari's Refuge or to Aurora Glade because people want to get to the next mission, I usually do these runs from between 300-500 gold per person, or for tips. Another method of payment is to have people pay with dyes. I have about 80 dies sitting in my storage, most people pay with yellows oranges and purples, but sometimes people pay with silver

If you have any other runs you like doing, maps you want to post, runs you are wondering about, post here! Some other runs are to Granite citidel, Marhans Grotto, Port Sledge, and Copperhammer Mines. These can get complicated (except sledge) and are harder to find parties for. I wish you all the best of luck and... gods speed.
