A Gift for Althea quest has changed?

I recently made my first presearing character for quite a while. I have done presearing plenty of times and like making sure I get all the available xp from doing all the quests. I had already picked up the Beautiful Feather and Beautiful Pearl for "The Gift for Althea" quest but I left the pendant til I was levelled up enough to do Bandit Raid without dying, I normally pick up the pendant after doing this quest to save time.

However, the chest containing the pendant in the mountain pass has disappeared. I thought it might be a spawning bug and went back to the Abbey and came back out again. There was a 'Hidden Stash' (which spawned in 2 seperate locations in the pass) but no chest.

Has anyone else encountered this? Has the chest been moved to another location? Is it a bug?

I tried search, but no-one seems to have posted about this problem, can anyone help?

Do you have the 'bandit raiders'(?) or 'ascalon strongbox' quests in your queue? I've had this problem before, but once I finished the quests in the area, the chest spawned.

Remember you can give any one of the items directly to Althea, bypassing Osiric, and she will accept the first one you find. No pendant? No problem.

i just checked and the chest along with a hidden stash are both in the pass as usual

I wish they had shortcuts like these in almost every quest. Different ways to do stuff.

Hehe they are one and the same, yeah I had just finished 'Bandit Raid' when it wasn't there. I took the strongbox to Devona and then respawned and it still wasn't there

Good point thanks, at least I can complete the quest. The chest disappearing is weird though, as with most weird things I'll chalk it up to the Xunlai Agents, they're hooked into everything...definately the Illuminati of Tyria

Make sure you have activated the quest. You need to stand near Osric for a few seconds while he has his conversation with the guard. After the conversation the quest marker will appear over his head.

One other quest I look forward to with my new characters is the quest you pick up just outside LA, the 'escorting Devona + friends' quest. WHat I do is pick them up, tell them I'm leading them to the Ascalon settlement, but instead just lead them round the whole of that area, doing all my other quests first. You don't get much/any combat XP, but the quests go by so. Damn. Quickly. It speeds Kryta up no end.

Devona: "Hey, this isn't the way to the Ascalon Settlement".

Mishkin: "Er... Shortcut".

Mhenlo: "His heart is pure. I believe in him".

I did the same last night darkMishkin - the nice thing is that they don't steal drops from you either. Of course, that means that you need to target creatures they aren't targeting so that you can get credit for the kill.
