Guild Song

The Guild Leader could pick from a list of music from the game that would be played while in the Guild Hall. You would only hear that song while in the Hall. And you could have a separate song that only plays after you win a Guild Battle, and maybe the other guild would hear your music too since they lost.
Maybe we could even get some real music. Imagine after winning a battle, you get to hear "In Da Club" by 50 Cent. And the other guild also has to listen to it. Part of it anyway. 30 second clip maybe.

Any thoughts?

I personally think it would be
  • Pointless
  • Annoying
As for putting in real music, I see enough swearing and bad sportsmanship in All Chat. I certainly don't want to hear it over my headphones.

Its just an added thing for fun. You wouldnt have to do it.

Well if it's optional to listen to it, I predict about 0.0005% of people will have the option on. Kind of a waste of resources to spend time on something like this.

Well, the rap was just an example. I'm not even sure if they would be able to let you upload mp3s. But just an idea. I would just like hearing something special and unique play when you win. And make the others listen to it.

That would be awesome if you could upload your music/mp3 file though!
If its from a list, I would still be up for this.

I do think it would be neat to have music for your guild, but no I do not think it should be real life music. Nor do I think Anet would EVER implement it so that you could use real life music, simply because much of it is not appropriate for the game. And Anet can't enforce it to a point that nobody will upload something terribly obscene, in any game where people can upload/create their own stuff, people always ruin it with their need to bring obscene things into the game and the same thing would happen if you could use real life music as a guild theme.

Choosing from a list of music the game provides: Sure, should be fun.
Being able to choose from and use real life songs: No.

A built in MP3 player that would allow you to import your own music for your listening pleasure. Like in UT2004 or GTA-san andreas. No one hears it but you. Dont get me wrong, I love the GW music but after an hour or so, it gets old.

I would prefer listening to theme ingame music instead of mp3s. Mp3 would just ruin the expirience of a game...

I think it would better that crators would do something about ingame music... more diferent music themes in a city.. or each city has music unique to that city ( area --> desert ( some arabean sort ), jungle , drums.., ascalon - medevial music ( in most human settlements ), Droks some dwarf like .... )

There were many games in past that were long and all but music was always great... Never got fed up with it... There just has to be different themes of music for different towns and events.. ( how about some action music during battle sequences / event ( winning favor - different music in ToA during favor )...

Ingame music - sounds like an ok idea

if i heard 50 cent in da club after winning a GVG I'd quit the guild ^^
Just kidding

I don't really see why it is necesarry though - maybe selecting just background music for the guild hall in general would be ok

I want entry music for my PvE char so that everybody knows that their Lord and Master has arrived. I think I'd probably go with Dies Irae from Mozart's Requiem. Old skool.

I can see the uploaded music being bad if others have to listen to it. People will make some rude things. So I guess choosing from a list is the option here.

No, but you can use Winamp in Windows and Guildwars in Windows and run them at the same time.

Dies Irae = Manzoni Requiem? I'm confused...

EDIT: Just checked... Aparently everyone likes Dies Irae in their requiem.

Well in your post you were talking about the Dies Irae in the Mozart requiem, and apparently there are multiple requiems with a Dies Irae section in them. The Manzoni Requiem being one of them.
