I have restarted in Ascalon about 3 times now, and I am just wondering: should I go on in the game, or should I continue to do all of the quests I can, at this begining part?

Questing is probably the most efficient way to level up in the game as well as gaining valuable skills... If you want to get these items and increase your level then stay. If you are finding that you are not getting the experiance that you want you most certanly can leave. Post-Searing is not like the Ascalon of old, you are more than welcome to travel back and complete any quests that you want. Really it's all up to you, there is not any reason you can not progress further on the map if you are getting bored of the old area, The only thing to remember is that the enemies get stronger as you progress in the game.
