other kind of skill limit (not the 8 skills thing)

Hi im new to the game i purchased the pre-order beta version and now im thinking about ordering the real one my question is this

ive searched for "skill limit" unfortunately it seems that everyone talks about the skills being limits to 8 but i wanted to know that actual SKILL LIMIT as in are skills limited like your characters level is limited to 20? or do they go on forever? or do they just go higher? id like it if the skills were unlimited or at least higher than level 20.

Your character is able to gain ALL the skills for ALL profession's, assuming you have the skill point's to get them all.

You get a number of skills from quest's, however you can't get any {Elite} skills from either quest's or Skill Trainer's.. they are only available from monsters through the use of a Signet of Capture.

After some point in the story your able to switch your secondary profession's after doing some quest's. If you switch your secondary you can then go collect skills for that profession. You also don't forget the skills of any profession you've been - so say your a W/Mo and switch to W/Me and grab some Mesmer skills but decide to go back to Monk for secondary.. ywhen you switch you'll have all the Monk skills you'd known back again.

Skill Point's are unlimited - you get 1 per level, 1 for each mission you do and 1 per 15K xp after you reach level 20. You'll keep on gaining Skill Point's which means your able to get all the skills of every profession on 1 character if you had the patience to grind the xp for the skill point's.

If your talking about Attribute points... Your limited to 200 attribute points. Each attribute can only be raised to 12 point's via these attribute point's. Through the use of runes and armor bonus you can get 16 in an attribute and certain classes can get 17-19 in 1 attribute through certain skills. All classes can get a +1 to a skill, but with only 20% chance of activating.

Skills are increased in strength by how many point's you put into it's linked attribute - the more point's you put in the more "effective" the skill will be.

I'm not sure what you mean by going higher. If you mean do they become more powerful, generally speaking skills gain power by having more points in hte attribute assigned to that skill. Since you only get a limited number of attribute points for your character, then skills effectively stop getting more powerful after a certain point.

If you mean how many skills you can know, then there are still a limited number of skills but there are many, many more than 20 for a given class. I can't remember the exact number.
