Okay, I bought GW yesterday and so far, it's been fantastic. There are just a few things that I need help on though.

1.) I'm currently in Ascalon City, and I've done a few quests (well, it seems like hundreds). My question is, is it worth it to seek out every single quest? I hate the catacombs with a passion after trying to find that guy, Oberon, only to realise that there was a path leading straight to him, and I'd taken the one that led around him (gained a level though...), and I still haven't done the missions for Brother Mhenlo or that hot Necro lady.

2.) I'm a slight perfectionist, and I feel the need to do everything and talk to everyone, so I was wondering if it's possible (and worth it) to explore every single area (before actually joining the Academy).

3.) What happens to the different areas after the Charr "incident"? I mean, I know the landscape changes, but I'm talking about the towns and the people in them. Are the same quests still there etc.?

4.) Do you guys pick up every single dropped item? I hate leaving items behind, so much so that I'd rather pick the them up and destroy them instead of leaving them on the ground.

5.) When is a sensible time to use dye? When I have nice armour? I have purple, green and silver dye in my inventory right now.

Okay, that's it I think. Sorry there are so many .

5) You can save your dyes for post searing. Many people prefer to sell their dyes, but I like to dye my armors. My 1st post-sear armor set gets dyed a "cheap" color. Yellow, green or orange. My elemetalist's pyromancer set got red because it looks MUCH better red & black than it did red/orange.

4) I sell what I don't want that won't salvage into useful stuff. So, yeah I pick it all up.

3)Some of the people change. The landscape is drastically different. The terrain is much tougher to navigate. The quests will be different.

2)It's possible to explore quite a bit. I did with my 1st character, but not with my second. It's not necessary.

1)You don't have to finish the quests, but I would at least finish the skill trainers' quests and get free skills.

Thank you. One more thing though: how long should I spend exploring/doing quests before entering the Academy? I'm level 5 right now.

makes it easier on the first few missions or quests

if you get killed right away go out with friends or henchmen

To be efficient in post-searing it would be good to be around level 7. Most of the enemies right outside of Ascalon City are about level 4 or so... if you go in at level 5 you can make more experiance for the kills that you make, but you are very likely to die very fast. It has been sugested that you should not leave until level 10, but I found that it was way too long to get to that level. My best suggestion is to finish all of the Quests that you have and then join the Acadamy. You should be close or over level 7 by that point.

I left both times at level 7. That has worked well for me. I have not gotten my @$$ handed to me on a platter by being unprepared.
