need help

hi i am new to this game(yes i like it) and iwas wondering when should i start getting crafting materials and stuff? i am a level 3 ranger soon to have a warrior sub job and my name is Dunes O

are you still in pre-searing? i would suggest jsut finishing all the quests in pre-searing and then youll b about lvl 7 when u leave and then do the quests and missions and you will get your equipment and stuff starting the game for the first time is the hardest and if u have any questions my in game name is sir caldec add it 2 your friends list bcuz i might be on another character

gathering those matarials is an option from the start. but in my opinion it really starts to pay off when you enter the Shiverpeaks (Snowy Mountains) and start there to salvage stuff.

You should start salvaging in Ascalon (new ascalon). If you need any help pm me in the game, add me to buddy list (press "n" for buddy list).
I would not reccomend that you buy a new armor in Ascalon, buy your first new armour in Yak's Bend, the first town you get in in the Shiverpeaks. The money is worth it there. It's a waste of money and time if you buy armour in Asc City.

I usually start salvaging after I get to Ascaon (post searing). The reason is that it's here that you can get extra inventory bags from merchants. Thus, it's not a big deal to have a few spots in the back of your inventory. I usually buy ascalon armor as soon as I can (if you don't have the means to do so, contact me ingame at Brock Lemmiwinks, Mini Memonk, or Robyn Hoodz, and I'll give you the money), then simply start saving for Droknar's. Normal salvaging of items between ascalon and Drok's usually provides enough of what you need in common crafting materials, and enough surplus to afford the rest of what you'll need. just do the quests in pre searing and sell everything you dont need. Example your a ranger so if you pick up a bow that is better than the one you have keep it and sell the other one. so sell what you dont need build up the gold so when you finish all the quests in pre searing and cross the wall at lvl 7 or higher you have some gold in your pocket to get a storage account, etc. Then in post searing start salvaging items into drops so you can get better armor.
