Pet level up.

I just got a new pet , and he grows sooooooo slow. I want to use him in some beast mastery with my ranger. Can u guys tell me how to level him up?

They level the same way players do...but yeah, they do seem to take a while compared to actual people.

GW needs a better pet system, maybe commands so your pet can attack a different target, and you should be able to view their health/exp's numerical value.

just say you need skill point power levels and get your pet raised up while doing so

The question that I don't seem to find answered anywhere, even in the pet guide, lest I missed it is:

I'm level 20, my pet is level 7. I want him to be a dire pet. If I take him to gates of kryta for the mergoyles, the game reports +0 for experience when they die.

Is that ONLY +0 for *me* or for both of us? Is the pet getting any XP from the kills? Or, must I be gaining XP from the kills for the pet to get any XP?

Answered my own question. It just takes a while. The mergoyles are level 12 and killing about 12-15 took my pet from level 7 to 8, even though I was getting 0 XP per kill.
