just went to simon the scribe with my new mesmer, taht cheap F'er did not have the Cities of Acalon quest = which means NO -50 HEALTH IDOL
please post confirmation or if there is some explanation = only one -50 idol per account??

There might be quests you have to do first because I just did it since the weekend with my new Monk and yesterday got the icon. So it does work, but I don't know what prerequisite there is to getting that quest. Might be the first one he gives you, you have to complete (in Old Ascalon) and then get the reward and then get the new quest. It's the 2nd one you get from him.

You have to do the first mission, Northern wall or whatever (the one that you have 3 minutes to run from the Charr). Once you do this mission, you can do the -50HP quest. But no sooner.

yea just confirmed it today. you do have to still do the census quest which also has a requirement (forgot which it was, but it was really quick) to unlock the Cities of Acalon but its still there and you can still get the -50 health offhand that is essential for 55 monk builds... in any cause. I think you just panicked cause you didn't do the required quests ahead of it and did not see it...
PS I had to remake a character to go do it cause Dummy me salvaged my offhand by mistake last week. lol That was a DOH moment that for sure...

all you need to do to complete SIR TYDUS defend the wall part is talk to Sir Zachery (CHECK THE QUEST UPDATE WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HIM)doing the MISSION is separate from the QUEST

you are correct on getting the first quest before Tydus will give you the wall quest.i only mentioned Simons prerequisites
