Salvage custom armor?

I was wondering if it possible to salvage armor that I have had crafted. I was wondering about this because I'm thinking that down the line I'm gonna wanna upgrade my stuff to the stronger versions but don't want to hunt for the same materials all over. Just a thought for when I get that far.......

You can salvage the armors that you have crafted, but you will not get all of your materials back. For example, you craft an armor that requires 15 iron ingots and then you
salvage that item. When you salvage it you will probably only get 5-6 iron ingots back. (Warning: This is only an example. These numbers are completely made up.)

Another not is that if you put runes in your armor and you use an expert salvage kit you have a chance of getting it back.

If you get your armor from a collector, keep in mind that you cannot salvage it - so any runes you put on it are gone.
