I get cloth from salvaging things like magical artifacts. Fire, Water, Earth etc. I am fairly certain it was those items above

I get lots of cloth from the "badges" that drop in the undead missions / dwarf missions after Yaks Bend.

All those collectible items are salvageable i.e. the fangs gave me glittering dust.

You can get cloth via salvaging armor drops- things like Stalker Armors or Mind Spark Garbs. Also, some of the "collector" items like Corrupted Orr Badges or similar things will salvage into cloth as well.
