I ahvent played taht much but owned the game since it cameout. I dont know al the skills and am not super hardcore. I love the ranger class and i think i would like to dual as an ele and specilaise in Ice to slow the oppenent. SO if i did that if i foucs on traps they are sutck in the traps or if i do shooting theylll never reach me and with a pet will get more attacks.
So any ideas and advice would be great. The idea is to stop my oppenet in their tracks. for pve and pvp

i guess u could put points into Water Magic for Conjure Frost ( for more bow dmg ) and then take a slow down spell... ( Deep Freeze, Ice Spikes, Shard Storm and/or Mind Freeze {E} ) if u want... i wouldn't plan on taking a pet or being a trapper tho... u'll be spreading ur points out too much

i'd say you should get conjure, and your slow spells should be either ice prison (long lasting but single character) or frozen burst (not long lasting, but effects every melee character you are fighting and is relatively low-energy).

First of all, try to read over your post before posting it. Everybody makes mistakes.
And, for the slowing thing. U only need water trident. That will slow anybody trying to get away, and its spammable. U also don`t need to put anything into water to get its knockdown effect. Although you could put points into it so you could use a water conjure.
And I would just suggest being a marksman. Good, and simple.

For PvE, my ranger/ele uses the air element. Most creatures in game are not resistant to it. Conjure Lightning + Barrage + Favorible Winds = great dmg spread vs groups!! For example, in the quest to change secondary into monk, you have to kill wave after wave of scarabs. They tend to group, so this combo tears through them like butter, taking 4-5 down at once! Of course this combo doesnt ALWAYS work since conjure can be stripped.
In PvP, nearly the same idea, but slightly different for single target spiking. Conjure Lightning + Favorible Winds + (Ignite Arrows or Apply Poison or Melandru's Arrows) + Punishing Shot = high dmg yield per hit!
I guess you could use the same idea and apply it to Conjure Frost instead, and for PvE or PvP, work on what skill you can do without in order to make room for a Water Magic snare...
