dont mean to rant but this is retarted. i bought guild wars today. first i open box then the inner box is rapped in like 2 layers of plastic i take that off. then jewel case inside that box ins wrapped in plastic so i take that off. then the cd key is covered by a sticker. id o exactly as it says and scratch gently witha coin. seems to come off fine byut oh what sthis .

ABOUT 3 NUMBERS ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE

so now i emailed em for help and trying figure out what the hell the numbers are. this is retarted and pisses me off so much. and i cant return it to monday and thats if they even let me return it. RAWR!!!!

if anyone knows format of cd keys maybe you can help

n = number
l = letters
x = unknown

NLLLN-xxLNL-NLLLL-LLxxx-xLLLN

so even if you know if the x's are numebrs and letters would probably help alot.

The CD Keys aren't formatted like that. My first block is NNNNL, for example.

Were the numbers not there to begin with, or did you scratch too hard?

I don't think that you will get anywhere looking for a format. Mine for example is all letters in the first section. I used my fingernail to scratch off the silver stuff because I was afraid that I would have happen exactly what happened to you. I agree, the scratch off thing is way overkill. You do have me confused though. What sticker are you talking about? Mine didn't have a sticker over it, just the silver scratch off stuff.

The only thing i can possibly think of is grab a magnifying glass and see if you get a faint outline.

If you have to return it, it shouldn't be a problem so long as its an exchange for the exact same thing. If it's a return for a diffrent game, or for your money back that causes problems due to copyright laws. Return for diffrent copy of guild wars and you should be ok.

I simply do not believe you. No offense, but it says in plain english "scratch gently with coin". You either scratched so hard that the printed numerals came off, or you are up to something

I think I see what you are saying. Did you peel off the sticker? You weren't supposed to do that. Just scrape off the silver stuff off of the sticker like on a lottery ticket. The sticker is just clear plastic between the number and the silver. My guess it is there to keep people from accidentaly scraping too hard and damaging the numbers. It looks like NC will help you out, but you will have to wait a bit. You might want to try and scrape the silver off of the sticker, and line it back up to the paper. You might be able to read all the numbers if you get it lined up just right. Good luck with getting your game going.

Scratch does not mean peel.

That plastic stuff was there to hold the silvery scratch off stuff. Ever play the lottery? When you scratch tickets off, the back of it is like a glossy coating, just like the sticker.

other than the logical solution of emailing NC with your problem, you could figure out the possible number of 3-character combinations involving letters and numbers...if you ever accomplish that, it's gonna be a bitch to go thru all of it lol. anyway, hope you get ur issue solved

i got it solved, i went to eb games and demanded a new copy. they complied after i told them i would no logner be a customer if they didnt. so i got a brand new copy :-D and as for guessing those 3 numbers it would had been about 45556 different combinatons :-(

thanks anyways
